Replacement for old Delta fixture.
I bought this to replace our old bathroom fixture for our plumber. For him, it was easy to install, and it functions very well. It controls the water pressure and is made of quality material.

Simple, Versatile, Quality
I am a General Contractor and our go to for plumbing faucet and shower fixtures are Delta/Brizo products. The Delta R10000 rough in is compatible with a HUGE selection of shower/tub trim kits. The design is simple, can fit in a 2x4 framed wall if needed, and I have not had one fail yet.

Works great!
Yes I know they have a version with built in Pex-A fittings but I love soldering so I bought the 1/2 threaded NPT and soldered 1/2 copper pipes on them onto Pex-A fittings. I did it this way so I have more control over the exact location of where I can mount the valve. The version with the built-in Pex fitting will still require you to use elbows and I'd rather have soldered joints than Pex elbows if we're being honest. This valve gives you tons of leeway when it comes to depth - you can install it way back or in front of the stud and the escutcheon will still cover it fine. I'm very impressed with the quality of this valve that I will be replacing the other valves in the house with Delta.

Check with your contractor before purchase
We hired a contractor to remodel our bath. The only thing they asked is to do was to figure out what shower trim were wanted and either buy the parts ourselves, or give him a list and he will get (plus a surcharge). We settled on Delta and got this rough in.The problem we have is that our shower is built against an exterior block wall. Original builder designed it like that and did not build the interior wall with proper clearance. The Moen they used physically fit in the space. Technically, a Delta would fit without stops. I bought this with stops because it's suggested for remodels if you don't have stops elsewhere to the shower. Without stops, we'd have to have the shower trim installed before finishing the wall. This only applies to installation on exterior block walls with standard half inch staves... After finishing the wall, when the stops are opened fully, they protrude past the finished surface and the escutcheon won't fit right. The only option is to either cut the heads of the stop screws, or remove the stops and replace with plugs. The nuts for the stops are 5/16" at 1/4" length. I would have preferred countersunk hex head plugs, but I was unable to find any in 5/16". I ended up at Advance Auto getting a pair of BLF-63C. These still stuck out a little and needed to be filed down a bit.

These are reasonably priced and over all we are very happy with them
A review from my wife: We purchased 2 of these units for our new home. Both are working well. This unit has to be purchased with the "Delta T17264-SS-I Ashlyn Monitor 17 Series Shower Trim with In2ition Two-in-One Hand shower Shower head" when you are building a shower from scratch. These are reasonably priced and over all we are very happy with them. I would recommend them. My only complaint is the same complaint I have on all faucets and shower heads constructed these days from every manufacturer: GET RID OF THE WATER SAVERS. I love Delta faucets. Other than 1 sink in a guest bathroom, we bought all Delta. However, I find that water savers (those little pieces of plastic they put up in the faucet head to slow the flow of water to near a trickle...I exaggerate....but not much) do not save water. I'm sure there is some researcher somewhere who disagrees. However, if I have to stand there under the shower for longer trying to get the soap out of my hair, what water have I saved? It reminds me of that Seinfeld episode with the "low flow shower head". We also have a gas tankless hot water heater. You have to let the water run awhile to get the water to warm up. If I have to deal with water savers slowing the flow, then it takes even longer to get the hot water to the faucet. Again....what water have I saved? I do wonder where exactly the water savers are. Are they in the faucet, or this assembly. I need to do more research. Sorry...rant over. Buy this shower head. It is great. That is all. Carry on.
