Hi Phyllis; Yes, it does have a book slot on the back. We have never used it. The cover for the book slot (blank protector) is 2 1/4 by 1 3/8 inches and reads: "Insert Bookman Cards Here." and, "To purchase see your retailer or call 1-800-Bookman". Also, the second small button from the left on the front right under the word "Franklin" is the "card" button. That button brings up a screen that describes the Bookman features and says that for a list of available titles, visit www.franklin.com. Hope this helps. Best regards, Fred.
