My son is 43 inches and almost 5. Will this work for him? Or should I go up a size?

Go up a size. My son outgrew it when he reached about 45 inches, his legs were just too long. Besides the larger kids size has better tires, these are just hard plastic, not actual rubber wheels that provide grip.
