Excellent, especially for the price.
I bought this battery before a trip to Iceland because I figured I'd have limited outlet availability, given the need to charge other devices and the number of power converters I own.I don't think the battery life is quite as good as the Nikon's; however, I didn't measure to know for certain, and I can't say that the workloads were identical. What I know is that the STK EN-EL15 lasted through an entire day, a day on which I shot between six and eight hundred pictures. As with most things in life, your mileage may vary. If you have the slightest reservations, buy two of these: you'll still save $20.Full disclosure: I have a terrible habit of leaving the camera on when traveling between locations (some of them were a couple of hours apart), and I also put some more intensive workloads on the battery the day I used it. I'm pretty new to photography, so I don't intuitively know where to place my exposure settings for the given lighting conditions. Thus, I had to review the picture and re-shoot it several times as I calibrated. I generally use the info screen to make these changes, which I assume places a non-trivial workload on the battery. I also played around with shooting on the live view for a little bit.My point is that under equal workloads, it's possible (perhaps probable) that STK's battery would last just as long as Nikon's. Regardless, the cost easily negates any potential battery life variance: I could buy three STKs for the cost of a single Nikon.

Low Cost, Strong Performance
At roughly one-third the price of the Nikon battery, this battery gets an initial five star rating. There were no issues with this battery's compatibility with the charger or camera. The battery is operating on the initial charge and the first use impression is very favorable. After two days of outdoor nature shooting, the battery has 34% charge remaining. A total of 231 photos were taken and reviewed on camera and many hours of camera idle time were accumulated. I have no way of directly comparing discharge performance against the original Nikon battery but the Sterlingtek battery provides sufficient camera usage to rate 5 stars. The question that remains is how many charge/discharge cycles it can deliver compared to the Nikon battery and this will take a couple of years to answer. I plan on alternating between the original and Sterlingtek battery in the camera. Over time, this will provide an answer to the relative number of charge/discharge cycles and may provide better insight on relative usage on a single charge.

Spectacular customer support, fast service,
This battery(s) for my Nikon D7100, the first one I received would only charge to 60,% 65% . And less. When I contacted customer support Sterling TEK not only replaced it but 2 batteries and a charger came in the post instantly, both replacements work great, charge to 100% in a reasonable time, I'm shooting most every day and thousands of photos, a little bit of video , Sterling TEK is a great supplier, product ? Time will tell but so far and ?? 2-3 weeks they are working great possibly just as good if not better than my original, will I recommend Sterling TEK! Absolutely 110%. The swift response I received was highly professional, will I purchase from them again, With Out a doubt.. and now ill research if they have batteries for my Canon FS100 , a PB-808. If they do! I won't hesitate.I'm happy. J . R. New England USA

I have decided that this is a good battery but not as good as the Nikon battery
I am writing this review because I read many reviews before I bought this product and decided that I would share my "side" opinion of the STK battery. I used this battery with a Nikon D610 and I also had 2 Nikon brand batteries that I have used for a year before purchasing this battery. Please understand I purchased this battery as a "back-up" to my 2 Nikon batteries because I took a vacation and did not want to "risk" running out of battery power. After coming back from vacation and after shooting over 15,000 pictures and videos, I have decided that this is a good battery but not as good as the Nikon battery. In comparing it to the 2 Nikon batteries, this battery did not "last" as long as the Nikon for shooting pictures OR video. In addition, once the power started to deplete, it drained faster than the Nikon batteries (and I had used the Nikons for over a year and this battery was brand new). Upon initial and subsequent use, for the first 4 or 5 hundred pictures (and video) or so, I could not tell the difference between the STK battery and the Nikon battery. It's AFTER you use the battery for a while that the difference demonstrates itself. The Nikon batteries seem to go on and on until well over 1,000 - 1,200 pictures (and video) before the battery indicator shows some depletion. The STK battery shows some battery depletion BEFORE 1,000 pics (and video). And then the trend continues. The Nikon battery's depletion rate is slow and steady. The STK battery's depletion rate is faster and quicker, which prompted me to change the STK battery SOONER than I would if it had been the Nikon battery. In my opinion, THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT for a/your Nikon brand battery...but it can be a good backup as long as you understand it's slight limitations....but at less than half the cost of the Nikon, I think it is well worth the money.

Excellent Replacement for Nikon EN-EL15
I bought one of these in December 2016 (it's now December 2018) when a different generic EN-EL15 died prematurely. So far the 2 year old STK battery has continued to function as expected and hold a charge. I have not done a rigorous comparison to the genuine EN-EL15 that came with my D7000 (purchased December 2014) but they seem to be similar in capacity. About 3 months ago the vendor, out of the blue, offered to sell me another STK EN-EL15 battery for only $2.00 due to my being a previous customer. How could I pass that up? Based on my experience, I am very pleased with the both the battery and the vendor.Update (12/12/2020): The batteries I bought in 2016 and 2018 are both still going strong. (So is the original Nikon battery that came with the camera).
