Is there a way to set it up so it doesn't take over all sounds? I love using it, but now I don't hear the ringtone when a skype call is coming in.

You should be able to do this easily using the "Ring on additional device" setting In Skype -- it makes incoming calls ring on multiple audio devices, for when you have both a headset (i.e. this handset) and speaker connected.

Will this work with Lync?

The Manufacture respond Microsoft Lync supports USB Audio device, then Skype phone should work. ( We did not actual test )

Does it work with Google Hangout Chrome extension?

Sorry to say I have not used this product with that application, I would think if other USB devices work this would too.

Anyone know if this handset will work with on a PC based Mitel MiVoice IP console?

We did not test Mitel MiVoice on Digitus phone set. Since Digitus telephone handset is a PC based softphones, it should work on all PC based softphone application.
