Q: What is the difference between the soladey j3x and the soladey ion 5? Are they the same toothbrush?

They are the same toothbrush but the 5 is redesigned specifically for a westerner's larger hand. I found this out while doing research on it. Hope this helps.

Q: Why is the product description negative?

I don't know what the "negative description" is but I am a Soladey user for many years and I find it very satisfactory. I prefer it to other brands, including various electric and battery powered ones I have used.

Q: How do you turn it on?

You don´t turn it on. According to the manufacturer, it is activated by light reaching the handle´s end, where there is a silicon chip embeded in the transparent plastic. So, when using the brush you must hold it in such a manner so as not to cover the transparent end, otherwise no light will reach the chip.

Q: Is it false advertising concerning the replacement heads? The description indicates that replacement heads are included. Is this false advertising?

Hello: No, it is NOT false advertising......I have received 2 orders over a period of several years (the toothbrush lasts a long time) and both times I have received replacement heads. The only problem I have is that when I initially ordered them directly from the supplier in Japan I had a choice of the TYPE of heads I would prefer......i.e. hard, medium, soft. Through Amazon, I am not given this choice and it only includes HARD type heads as a replacement. I am planning to go back to the original supplier directly if they are still around. Otherwise, I am REQUESTING AMAZON RIGHT ERE if I can have SOFT replacement heads???? Also, I have used this product for many years and it is the very best on the market for removing plaque. Amazon, please RESPOND TO MY REQUEST NOW, THANK YOU!

Scam - doesnt work - hurts teeth

Absolute scam. Most of the research online that suggests this brush works is from non descript universities in rural India. Don't buy. Buy a simple digital tooth brush from Oral B for INR 1000. Works much better. In addition bristles were incredibly hard - destroyed my gums.
