I am a size 10 and they fit just fine even after washing in warm to hot water. The heel fit where it should be.

If you read the description above it says 35% wool 29% cotton 36% polyester-I have bought the before and they are nice

Has anyone machine washed these socks? Do they shrink a lot?

I have washed mine now a couple of time, cold water. They did not shrink. I love this socks. They are very comfortable.

Is the yarn from the patterns woven in, or are there a bunch of loose threads inside?

I tried on one sock & it has multiple loose threads on the inside that my toes got caught in. Though they are super cute I think I will be sending them back.

Soft. Can machine wash and dry.

Very soft. Shorter than a crew sock. One of the socks came with a small hole where the heel piece meets the stripes. I just mended the hole AFTER I washed and dried them before wearing. They are a little snug when sliding them on over the heel, and I have skinny heels and ankles, but then they feel fine once they’re on. They wash and dry nicely in cold water and low dryer. I would buy these again.
