Oakridge BBQ Signature Edition Black OPS Brisket Rub - 6 oz

This spice rub smells a little funky upon sniffing but translates to delicious full flavor after smoking a brisket. Very happy with it.

I use this for my BBQ after the salt & pepper mix.

I heard about this Rub from some of my favorite YouTube channels and I had to give it a try. Hands down, one of my favorite rubs. Just tried it on some Dino Ribs and wow, it’s awesome.

I got this for brisket and really put it on thick with a little mustard as a binder. The flavor was fantastic and I could have easily gotten away with a much lighter coating (it is salty enough, but I might add some black pepper if I went with a lighter coating of this stuff). After the brisket, I have used the rest of the pouch on pretty much every meat that I cook and it has yet to disappoint.Not that it would seem to match the flavor profile at all... but I mixed a few tablespoons of this with oil/vinegar/lemon juice and crushed garlic to marinate some chicken thighs, then gave them a very light dry dusting just before throwing on the traeger... maybe the best chicken thighs I've ever had.Fairly pricey for the amount you get, but worth it in my opinion.

This stuff is made by people who know good brisket. Everything about this rub is amazing. The flavor is fantastic and doesn’t mute the meat flavor but compliments it. I admit when I received it I was a little confused by the tiny package. This package will easily do 3 packers. Custom for life. Best brisket rub I’ve ever used.

The flavor was just ok. Priced high, not sure what the hype was about. It wasn’t bad it just didn’t impress, especially for the price.

This rub came up on my Amazon "recommended for you" page. I like to make my own rubs, but also enjoy trying out commercial rubs for inspiration and to sample new flavor profiles. This one had solid reviews so I gave it a shot.I used it on a 15lb prime whole brisket that was smoked on my Kamado Joe at 225º. I gave the meat a light coating with mustard and then liberally applied this rub; the small bag was plenty to do one large brisket. I got the brisket going and let it cook overnight, wrapped it in butcher paper during the stall, then finished until it probed tender.This rub gave a gorgeous bark that was one of best barks I've ever gotten. However, when I took a first bite I was overwhelmed with a spicy pepper flavor. Even in spots where the bark was thin, it was all pepper flavor. It completely masked the flavor of the beef and made it one of the more unenjoyable smokes I've done. I, and my guests, were unable to really enjoy a brisket like you should be able to.Needless to say, I don't get the good reviews for this rub. I want my brisket/beef rubs to compliment the beef flavor, not mask it. This one epically fails at working with the beef to produce great flavor. Waste of money on the rub, and waste of money on the brisket - a very expensive lesson learned with this rub.Avoid this rub if you enjoy the flavor of brisket at all. Not recommended at all.

I've not used many rubs, but I thought this one was excellent. I've used it on beef brisket twice now; cooked low and slow for 6-7 hours it gave a great bark and lovely authentic flavour.I was a little put off by the size, but a little goes a long way. I reckon I could get 3 large brisket cooks out of this package.
