Perfect for Reigning in Overtones
Not a fan of muting my drums at all. I would rather choose the right head and keep the drum open. For my ear, beats Moon-Gel or Zer-o Rings hands down. To my ear, they change the fundamental characteristics of the drum sound, making it flat and dead, taking the material you chose for the drum shell out of the equation. I've never made them work to my liking. But these are different. They don't deaden the drum and allow it to breathe while killing some overtones and ringing. Very pleasing to my ear and sound sensibilities I rarely use it, but I'm happy to have it.

I’m sold
Yes, a little pricey like every other drum accessory… but I love the effect on a snare drum. This size gates just enough :-)

Great for floor toms too.
A little too much dampening on my snare, so I moved it to my floor tom which now sounds just perfect. As advertised, the M1 keeps the note's attack while attenuating overtones a bit and shortening sustain just a tad.

Dear Snareweight
I really like your products, I have three M80’s for my snares and larger toms. I have two M1b’s for my smaller toms. They make my drums sound better, dampening just the right amount of overtones while still allowing the drums to sound natural.Pros:o M1b good size for smaller tomso M1b good size for orchestral snares (where some overtones are needed)o M80 good size for snares and larger tomso Dampens just enough overtones to keep drums sounding naturalo Better than Evans E-Ring and Aquarian Studio Rings (these are pretty good at removing overtones but deadens some drums too much)o Better than Moon Gel – which can get messy but works if that’s all you got, good for some situations where location/placement is importanto Black Gaffer tape (I like) – is good overall at keeping drums sounding natural and reducing overtones, but Snareweight is a more user friendly / elegant solutionCons:o Pricey if you need a buncho Sometimes package mislabeled (color) – see photoso Grain and quality of leather can vary (may get one with stiffer leather, may get one with softer leather)Currently using Snareweight on:Yamaha Recording Custom 5 piece - BirchLudwig LM402 Supraphonic Snare Drum - 14x6.5 AluminumPearl Philharmonic Concert Snare - 14x5 Maple

Bought it on Amazon bc Sweetwater's shipping wasn't going to be fast enough. Same exact one on Sweetwater. Nice quality ! My husband loves it!

I really like these dampers on my DW drums.
I am enjoying the dampers on all my toms.I may eventually buy one for my main kit snare, though I love the un dampened sound of my snare.

So Good
The end of MoonGell and duct tape. This is a great invention. Some rooms make it impossible to not add something to a snare drum to dial it in. This solves a lot of problems. 3 different levels of muffling and you can flip it into an off position without taking it off. I have them on all of my snares and even added them to my toms just in case. The black leather will leave a mark on the drumhead if that is a concern for you. I love it and woulkd recommend to any drummer.
