Great way to tell if you need this type of device or not
I got this thing knowing i like my meat cooked as little as possible. It hasn't changed my beef cooking behavior but it has completely revolutionized my chicken cooking experience. I don't believe a meat thermometer should be relegated to the grill alone. Use it frequently, test your internal thermometer. I don't think this is the best meat thermometer on the market, but it's position as the cheapest gives it value alone.Do be aware that for a few seconds after turning on, the temperature goes a bit wild. wait until it stabilizes then it will operate fairly reliably. Accurate reading is about three seconds, any longer and the measurement will be higher on the device than it is in the meat.

Not Accurate...not even close!
After using it a few times, I suspected the accuracy was off. Then, I tested it versus an actual thermometer in a cup of hot water. The thermometer read 150 degrees...this unit read 120. It also took a long time to get a stable reading..Perhaps I got a bad one...but in my experience, sadly, it is worthless!

I can'tt get the thing to work
Maybe someone knows what to do but when I insert the thermometer as instructed, instead of temp rising it immediately begins to fall. I've tried putting it in vaious places in the meat and holding it horizontally , waiting for it to start up again and it jiust doesn't work. I must be missing something?

Handy gadget
I've got one and have given two as gifts. I find it convenient to attach to my vent hood. Helpful when using toaster oven or new air fryer to check meat temp. Just wish it had table indicating doneness of different meats.

Best Choice
A great thermometer for testing doneness of baked meat, fish, etc. An Attached chart tells what temp you want to reach and maintain. Cleans easily, folds nicely and has a magnet in case you want to attach to your stove as I do.

LOVE THIS LITTLE GADGET!
I love this little gadget. It had a magnet so it sticks to my microwave for easy access when I need it. It is also very quick to give you the temp of your food.

Did not work
I'm not sure whether it shipped with a bad battery or it had some other problem, but it didn't work out of the box so I returned it immediately.
