Kids loved it
I originally bought this for myself, but then gifted it to some friends and their kids (10, 8 and 6). It was a hit with adults and kids alike. The six-year-old had some trouble being competitive, but understood the rules well enough to play their own hand and had a great time. The kids even chose to play it among themselves instead of Minecraft a few evenings! It is easy to learn the rules, but there's lots of room for strategies of all types. It is also relatively quick to play a game, and things keep moving. And, there were also no hurt feelings with the kids if someone got a "bad" hand, because they were constantly passing hands. All around, great game (I had fun playing it!) and gift.

"We don't want to start another game, but we're not ready to stop playing yet..."
Sushi Go is a fast 3-round card game perfect for that last game before it's time to go home. It has become our go-to for game night when we've played our big board game which has taken the better part of an hour to complete and we're all still reveling in the fun of game-play too much to just say good-night and go home yet. Sushi-Go involves a little bit of stragegy, but mostly speed and "kawaii." It's easy to learn and pick up for new players, and always enjoyable for experienced players as well. I brought it with me on a trip recently; it's small and travels easily, and usually when I bring it to a friends' house for a game night, they end up purchasing it for themselves soon after. HIGHLY recommend Sushi-Go for your game collection. :)

Fun pick and pass game
Absolutely love this game!! My seven year old picked up on it easily enough and we play often. Play is quick and there's an aspect of strategy to it that isn't overwhelming, but keeps it interesting. Gamewright is the kind of brand you really can't go wrong with!

What's not to like? Great, but you may want Sushi Go Party!
This game has been raved about for a long time by many people. I finally got it and can see why. It is a quick set collecting game with lots of strategy. It is easy to play and fun and people can get loud when they play.I was debating on whether I wanted this game or the party version, and I chose this one. While I definitely am happy with this version, I really do wish I had spent a little more money on the Party version because this game is limited by the number of players you can have. This is a great game for family game night, but on bigger game nights with friends, I cannot use this game. I wish I had thought about that prior to purchasing because the Party version upscales so easily without losing any of the game play mechanics (actually adds some) is fun, and can still be played with less players. If I was going to get a version of Sushi Go!, I would recommend spending more and getting Sushi Go Party!

Fun, Quick Game
This game is a fast and fun game for all ages. My most recent game involved a 21 year old(me), 19 year old, 12 year old, 9 year old, and a 5 year old. The 5 year old understood the base game mechanics, but didn’t really care for the scoring as long as he was included in the game lol. Everyone else understood after I gave a short 10 minute explanation. Everyone had fun! It’s rare that I can find a game that everyone is able to understand, play, and also have fun. This game is a ~15 minute card game that plays in three rounds. Each player starts the round with an amount of cards that depends on the amount of players. Each player will pick one card from their hand to save and pass the rest of the hand over to the player on the left. After rotating hands a few times, everyone will be out of cards to play and figure out the amount of points they’ve gathered from the different card combos. The goal is to have the most total points at the end of the three rounds. The game plays very quick but not rushed. Even though it’s a quick game, it’s still at a nice pace and this aspect was important in my decision to get this game! The art is very appealing because it’s simple yet nice to look at. There is another version of this game Sushi Go! Party, which I would recommend if you are playing with more than 5 people(max for this game) and are looking for a bit more complexity. I haven’t personally played it, but I gathered that the general consensus is that the Party version is better.

Finally! A challenging game that I enjoy playing with my 6 year old.
My 6 year old loves games, he practically begs me to play a board game with him every night. Up until this point we've been playing candy land (groan), and Chutes and ladders (kill me now). The games I enjoy like Ticket to Ride and King of New York are really fun but the rules are just too complex for him. He's just learning to read and can read single words and very basic sentences. This game was suggested to me by a friend with kids that owns a couple hundred games. It was super cheap so I decided to give it a go. We've only played 1 time and he's already getting the strategy of the game. The words in the game revolve around sushi (sashimi, nigiri, wasabi, etc...) so they weren't easy for him to read at first but there are only about 10 distinct cards so he was able to learn the pictures. The rules of the game are easy for an adult to grasp but a little challenging for a 6 year old at first. I had to give him a lot of hints and helped him throughout the first game we played. The basic idea of the game is to gather the most points by putting sushi cards together. Putting Nigiri on top of Wasabi gets a certain amount of points, chopsticks let you select 2 cards, whoever gets the most pudding at the end of the game gets 6 points, etc... Each play you get to keep a card from your hand and then you have to pass the hand to another person playing so that they can pick a card. There's a decent amount of strategy to it and thinking ahead required. The game supports up to 5 players at the same time.Overall I highly recommend this card game if you you have kids that like board games and want to play with the adults. It's a little challenging at first but it's a lot of fun and I think most kids in the 6-10 range will be able to pick it up pretty easily. The best thing about this game is that it's also fun for adults. I could play it with my friends on a random Saturday night and we'd have fun with it as well. I'm very happy we found this.
