Buy this kettle for an 8 cup Chemex
I have been looking for a gooseneck kettle with a true volume big enough for my 8 cup Chemex. Most kettles online and in store are too small. I was apprehensive about this kettle due to the reviews mentioning thinness but I bought it anyway. This kettle is AWESOME! The kettle looks small but holds more than enough for the 40oz I needed, and I don't know what people expect but this is as thick as my stainless steel water bottle... Absolutely perfect in every way. The handle stayed cool on my stove and all I did was fill the kettle to about a half inch below the rim and put on medium with the lid off. Once the water hit a simmer and started to get bigger bubbles I snapped on the lid and brewed. Nice clean stream, very sturdy in hand and my handle was comfy (used the small burner). I am thrilled and will update if anything changes.***UPDATE***Kettle is still amazing. Looks brand new, works perfectly, no rust no warps, awesome awesome awesome.

Very nice coffee assistant!
Very nice kitchen upgrade!* Light weight* Very nice design* Holds enough water to make tea/coffee for up to 8 cup (this of course varies on personal preferences)* Lid stays on while pouring, yet easy to remove* Handle design allows protection from getting burnt by accidentally touching kettle* One major improvement I noticed: We were using a glass pot to boil water for coffee and there was a sediment/residue which was white and stock to pot, it could be cleaned but took a lot of work and it came back too soon. I am not too sure what that white build-up was or what it could do (harm-wise)* Pouring is a delightThe only thing I believe is missing from this very nice kettle is the whistle. Oh, by the way, water boils super fast. I guess that is one of the attributes of stainless steel.

Handle stays cool, lid stays on - very functional, easy to use little kettle.
It is very shiny and capable of getting quite hot...decent traits for a kettle. The lid doesn't fall off when pouring - also a great plus. It does not whistle or otherwise alert that the water is boiling, so you can't fire it up and wander off.The handle is comfortable and does not get hot, and it is very easy to control the rate and location when pouring (great for pour-over coffee).

Good quality and volume for the price
This is a fine stove top gooseneck kettle but I can tell that it is a more basic design than others I have used in the past (mostly just complaints how the lid sits tightly inside the pot and can be difficult to put on or remove). It holds up well over time but I gave up on keeping it shiny by following directions and keeping the flame from going up the side of the base. That said, it still looks great even though mine may have more "character" than others.I purchased this one for use with a larger french press kettle and it is great as far as the capacity goes. The kid in me was disappointed that it didn't whistle when the water is boiling.

Perfect Gooseneck, not supposed to whistle!
I'm going to address a few reviews that I read before buying this item as I review it myself. First--it works perfectly! The instructions say not to have it on excessively high heat, which still boils the water considering the volume. Any marks on the bottom of the pot would be from that, and when you follow the instructions, the handle doesn't get hot at all.Second, it's a gooseneck kettle. It's not supposed to whistle, you have to watch for when steam comes out of the little hole on top. I use this for pour over coffee, so when I see the steam I turn off the heat and wait half a minute so it isn't boiling when I pour it over the grounds.Third, it's a kettle. Any residue or film is not from this kettle (wash it first!), it is from your water. I grew up with very hard water, so it made the kettle water cloudy and left mineral deposits on the metal. If you have other things showing up, get your water checked. As a whole, you could use filtered water for this, but you can also soak it in a vinegar solution for an hour (as per the instructions) to get rid of residue.Fourth, the instructions say to keep it dry. Being a gooseneck, it's going to need to dry completely or water will be trapped in the spout and it will rust. Sure, some things rust more easily, but the instructions say to keep it dry and if there is any leftover water, YES, it will rust, it is Metal. It's a great little kettle. I wanted this one because it matches my *~cottagecore~* aesthetics I'm trying to cultivate, and it's perfect for pour overs.

This is my MULTI--Functional stainless steel kettle pot
What more could you ask from a teapot than to pour nice boiling water into my cup of Joe or tea in the morning. The Zell stainless steel kettle pot is beautifully designed with a nice shimmering glow when making hot water on the stove. My first experience when leaving this kettle pot on the stove was accidentally leaving the kettle pot on there for 45 mins - 1 hr and I thought for sure I was going to leave charred marks on the bottom of the kettle (pour over newb). Sure enough no stains or markings and that began my love affair for pour over coffee.Definitely a bit larger than previously thought; however I like to invest my products into multi functional uses. I use it to water my palm tree, potted plants, leftover hot water for oatmeal, and clean the drains every now and then. It is my multi functional kettle pot!

I would not buy again.
Very pleasing visual design, pain in the neck to take care of it, must empty after use and dry out, I didn't read the brochure until after I had used it the first time. The next morning there was a tiny rust spot in the very center of the inner bottom of the pot. Should have known something was up when I couldn't find a marking for stainless steel. Too bad, cute pot.
