RAB Scree Gaiter

They held up great during our climb up Mt. Russell. A big chunk of the ascent was completely scree. My friend had to dump out his shoes numerous times but not me! The color also matched well with my approach shoes.

I decided on these due to the review on Outdoor Gear Lab. I purchased them for a specific trip to Channel Islands National Park, which involved off-trail travel through sand, grass, and brush.They were great - kept goatheads and stickers out of my socks effectively, paired with a sneaker-style hiking shoe. They were easy to put on, stayed in place, took plenty of scratching and scuffing with no issues. They're small and lightweight and weren't too hot even in sunny 90° conditions. No significant wear noted to the elastic strap after about 20 miles of use; as others have noted, they include a spare length.I'm 6'0" and 200 lbs. and the Large size fit my proportionally-sized calves snugly, but not too tightly.

I bought these cause of review by outdoor gear lab. Only good for small ankles. I called Rab the only make 2 sizes large & small. I informed the Colorado based company that they're a lot of big guys hiking & backpacking these days he didn't care that the large didn't fit me. Wow that's real crap service. So if your a small ankle guy these will fit

Light, easy to put on, work like a charm, and stay in place even if you remove the string.

These are well made like all Rab gear that I have purchased. However, I found the elastic tops to be very tight and uncomfortable.
