Works perfectly! I love it dearly, it's only crime is that it is hand wash only. This is advertised, so I bought it for a friend who doesn't have a dishwasher anyways. I love it from afar!

The disappearing women Update
Everything that makes this mug what it is (the women, the writings) is not on the mug itself, but on a wrap covering the mug. So, after two months of use and ONLY hand washing, the wrap is coming off and the women are disappearing. We have to stop using it or the mug will soon become just a plain mug. Unless you are going to put this mug in a display case and never actually use it, I would not recommend.This is an update to my previous review. On their own, the manufacturer refunded my money and explained that the film was to protect the figures on the mug and had to be removed prior to use. I did not see the tag to remove the film. So, I bought another mug, removed the film and we'll see what happens. I'm bumping my review to four stars based on the manufacturer's refund and my mistake about the film.

For Austen fans - but don't put in the dishwasher!
My daughter's favorite book is Pride and Prejudice and she was thrilled with this mug. However, I ruined it by not paying attention and putting it in the dishwasher. Totally my fault. She was so upset that I bought this one to replace it and she was really happy. She took it with her to school, so no danger of me ruining it again.

Granddaughter Loves the mugs
My 20 year old granddaughter was very pleased with her present at Christmas. When she filled the mug with hot chocolate she was surprised. A nice gift!Nsims

Cute cup, requires special handling
You cannot put this cup in the dishwasher, and you can't let it soak in the sink inside another container. The ladies around the cup are a decal and it will come off. If the extra attention is not big deal for you, then it's a cute cup where ladies strip down to their provincial underwear when the cup gets hot.
