Good refurbished SSD
This product was ordered from Amazon Resale, and took about 9 days to arrive. It arrived a day earlier than was specified on the order page. From the tracking, it shipped from somewhere in Europe. It arrived in used packaging but that's expected. After testing, it had about 187 hours of use along with around 1TB of writes and 2TB of reads, so not much at all really.Considering the price was reduced from £117 to £88, it was a pretty good deal for the 2TB model. Performance fully saturates my PCIe 3.0 system and it was already updated to the latest firmware so there were no problems with Windows 11 24H2 increased HMB and performance is fantastic. It seems to use less power than comparable drives, but also has no hardware encryption support.Installation was simple with both my external NVMe enclosure and laptop, and it runs quite a bit cooler and faster than my Kingston NV3 1TB drive. Very happy with it.

Has issues with windows 11 24h2 specifically
It is a great ssd, although windows has ruined it for new builders like me. They released an update god knows when and it breaks your computer with blue screens often.these blue screens areUnexpected store exceptionCritical process diedKeenan data impage errorSystem service exceptionTo fix these blue screens you can either download their software called wd dashboard, you can also use the more stable 23h2 *just a older version of windows 11* which I’m currently downloading. The heat levels have been fine and the boot time is around 15 seconds, I don’t have the option on in the power settings for it to go faster as it uses power when off. It was super easy to instal and I’ve already bought another for my second nvme slot.

Bang for buck
Great SSD. The cooler keeps the ssd at manageable temps. Great speed and good price for the size. Took my bios boot time to 4seconds on win11.

Blazing-Fast Boot & Game Times, With Minor Thermal Trade-Offs
Why I Bought ItI got this WD_BLACK SN770 2TB drive because I was maxing out my old SSD with modern games and large media files. I wanted a drive with high capacity and fast read/write speeds so load times, game installations, and file transfers would be noticeably better.Setup / First ImpressionsIt’s an M.2 2280 NVMe drive—slips right into the M.2 slot on my motherboard. Packaging was minimal but sufficient. Once installed, the system instantly recognised it. The first thing I noticed was how fast Windows and games booted up compared to my older SATA SSD. Also, the WD Dashboard tool makes it easy to check drive health and update firmware, which adds reassurance.Performance / QualityPerformance is very impressive. The SN770 delivers up to ~5,150 MB/s sequential read speeds, and ~4,850 MB/s sequential writes on the 2TB model. In real-world use, loading large games or transferring big files is noticeably faster. Random I/O is also strong (hundreds of thousands of IOPS) so multitasking or handling small file operations is snappy. The only drawback is heat under heavy sustained workloads; without good cooling (motherboard heatsink or airflow), the drive can warm up, possibly causing thermal throttling if it's under constant load.Pros✔️ Excellent read/write performance — feels modern and fast for gaming and media work.✔️ Large 2TB capacity means space for many games/apps without constant management.✔️ Uses PCIe Gen4 which lets you take full advantage if your rig supports it, while remaining backward compatible.✔️ Five-year warranty and good endurance (high TBW) give confidence in long-term use.Cons❌ Gets hot under sustained writing / gaming loads if cooling is mediocre.❌ For tasks that aren't big file / game loads (e.g. document editing), you won’t always notice huge differences vs cheaper NVMe drives.❌ Price per GB is higher than basic or lower performance SSDs, so depends on whether you need the speed.Final VerdictIf you want a high-performance SSD that handles gaming, large file transfers, and everyday use with flair, the WD_BLACK SN770 2TB is a great choice. It significantly reduces load times and boosts responsiveness. Just make sure your system has good airflow or cooling to avoid thermal issues for heavy use.
