Dutch Treet
First time I had these was in Amsterdam. Stroop is a syrup they put on pancakes over there instead of the maple (flavored) syrup we have here. It takes some getting used to for sure for and American. These were just like the ones I had in Amsterdamn. Quite yummy if you like stroop. Recommendded for you displaced Dutch people that need a stroop fix.

I was very disappointed with these Stoopies as they call them
I was very disappointed with these Stoopies as they call them. One package was old and stale, the other two weren't very good eiher. If you like dried out and hard stroopwafels, so dry the waffle separates and falls off, these are for you. If you like them moist and chewy, sweet and delicious, these are NOT for you. These were skimpy on sweetness, hard and dry.For me these are barely edible. Again very disappointed

Fool me once
Sorry, but I will not order from this company again. I ordered the product 2 November and received 13 November. That's a bit long for a food item in my opinion. Could have sworn it said 3-5 business days during checkout. Every company is different and of course Penguin Mints cannot control the mail, but this time span just doesn't work for me. The company can add their comments if they like, but that doesn't change the fact that I am unsatisfied with my experience. I order from and through amazon.com once a month or so for the past 2yrs, and in my experience, it takes 7 calendar days or less to receive my products. Besides, I've had better quality of the same product from a different company. I tried Penguin Mints because they were cheaper.

Let them warm to room temperature and they are perfect, NOT old or stale!
My shipment just arrived. The doorbell rang- the kids and I rushed to see who! In this case it was what! We had run out of "momma's special secret treat" (I originally didn't share them with the kids because I knew once they'd had a bite it would all be over and I couldn't have them all to myself!). I originally came across these wonderful treats 10 years ago at a Traders Joes and was in love! We shop at Aldis and they had them as a holiday special this year-we stocked up! When we ran out, I decided to see what Amazon had.We opened the large box to find another box- black and white with penguins and men in suites and peppermints.com (Black Tie Merchantile is owned by the same people as Peppermints.com). Inside the second box were the three small little plastic sacks containing the flat sweet little delicacies. I tasted one and it was hard and brittle. Darn! I immediately had two theories: either it is hard and brittle because it is cold outside and it has been in a cold carrier (not in my cupboard at 68 degrees) or it was bad like another reviewer had stated. I looked at the package and it said "best before: see clip" with an arrow pointing toward the plastic & metal fastener that keeps the bag closed mine said 34-14-UU (clearly not a date). However, the waffles came in two boxes, on the inside box that it arrived in there was label with large print "Expiration date: 10-01-2016."I popped the hard wafer I had just attempted to eat into the microwave for 10 seconds. It was great! As I've sat here and typed this, the other wafers are slowly softening to room temperature and are perfect!I will say the expiration label is definitely tricky and they are a little pricey. These bags are almost 9 oz. With this purchase you get three 9oz bags for $17 (shipping included with Prime). At Traders Joes they have 7oz. bags for $2.75. Seasonally at Aldis I think they were $2 (though I'm not sure, but it does sound right.) However this was definitely the best price on Amazon! If you don't have a TJs nearby, they are worth it!

Dutch cookies
At these in Europe and liked the taste and texture. Upon my return to the US I thought I'd never get another chance to eat them. However, I found them on Amazon and now have a supply on hand. These taste as good as the ones in Europe.

Tasted great
First ran across these lovely cookies from a friend living in Holland who brought a bag to the US as a gift. We loved them! So I wanted to see if it was possible to find them on my own here in the US. These tasted like the real deal. Can't wait to buy more!

This shipment just arrived. I tasted one and it ...
This shipment just arrived. I tasted one and it seems old and stale. Unless I'm reading the date format incorrectly, although I don't see how that would be possible given the 00, these expired in 2000. The expiration date stamp is 09-14-00. I will be returning these for a full refund.
