Bought for gel nail use
Quick tip for finding which side is which: To me, I assumed the ‘rougher’ side was the holographic side and it was not. When I say ‘rougher’, I mean almost imperceptible difference but there is a difference to me. The absolutely smooth side was the holographic side for me!I mainly bought this out of sheer curiosity and I just wanted to see how practical it could be for gel nails. It is so cool! Not really practical but is soooooo cool.I did four practice nails. For three of them I used beetles brand: top coat, base coat, and matte top. For the fourth and most successful I used Modelones 4 in 1 nail glue. I also used Makarts nail glue actually.Basically, glossy top coat is too slippery and the plastic sheet will move around too much before curing. Everything else was fine, all perfectly holo. Base coat stays too wet after removal (it’s supposed to). Matte was interesting, because the gel is thick and doesn’t move as much it was perfect. The holographic imprint still makes it shiny! The nail glues worked best just because of thickness. You want a good fat blob so more of the nail is touching the paper. It’s too difficult to wrap around and stay put.So yeah, literally curing a piece of the paper on top of gel will make just about anything holographic. It can’t be reused really and you have to make sure to have good nail prep or else paper might take the gel instead of the nail.If I did resin crafts I would absolutely use this. I cannot over state how cool it is to remove the paper and suddenly something is holographic without pigments or powders. It’s a special kind of beautiful!

Flexible sheet
It is a nice flexible grating

Effective
Used this to make holographic chocolate with success. If you can't remember which side is textured - gently run your fingernail on it.

Very Pretty But Difficult To Determine Which Side the Lines Are On
This sheet looks very pretty when you hold it up to the light. The funny thing is that there are rainbow colors on both sides, and so it is difficult to determine which side the lines are on. Even the rub test with gloves on doesn't really help to determine the right side. I guessed wrong the first time that I poured silicone rubber on it. How difficult would it be really for the manufacturer to indicate which side has the lines?
