Know your nibs. This one does exactly what it's made for.
This nib does exactly what it was made to do, at a very fair price. If you are a beginner to pointed dip pen calligraphy, this is a good nib to start with. This is a large nib....larger than traditional flexible fine point nibs. If you are using an oblique penholder, you'll need one with a flange that will accommodate a nib this size. It will fit into a standard straight holder just fine. Because the nib is large, it makes slightly thicker lines than other fine pointed nibs. This is good for beginners, because it is less likely to stick into the paper on upstrokes, you'll be able to make a fairly smooth line, and you'll be able to see where you are putting your thick shades and thin lines fairly easily. But if you are looking for a very fine, delicate line, this is not the nib for you. It's just not made for that. As with all new nibs, there is a thin coating of oil on them, so you have to clean the nib before you use it. If you don't clean the oil off properly, it won't hold much ink, or it will blob ink when you start to write with it. For seasoned penmen, this is a good nib for writing on crappy envelopes, it's fairly flexible, and holds a decent amount of ink. Doesn't last forever, but it's a pretty good nib for the price!

Smooth writing, highly recommended, quality product.
This is an excellent dip pen nib, one of the best I've used! I've tried a number of models--both vintage from antique stores and new--from Speedball, Hunt, Leonardt, and Brause, in both the larger curved style meant for calligraphy as well as the thin tubular style designed for sketching or inking, all with varied scratchiness of the tip. I found the Zebra G model (a larger curved style) to be smooth so as not to catch on the paper, even when changing direction on the upstroke. As stated in other reviews, the notched edges adjacent to the vent hole allow amazing flexibility and versatility to the user since the applied pressure offers the thinnest of lines to very bold strokes (anywhere from 1/8" to 1/4" in width). The nib cleans easily and does not stain, but since you get 10 per pack, these will last hundreds of hours of writing. These nibs proved compatible with Speedball pen holder style B (that which uses Speedball nibs of series A, B, C, E, 22B, 56, 99, 101, 512, 513EF).

Works well for the Jinhao 750 conversion
I was dying to try the Jinhao 750 conversion with these. The way I did mine was to clamp the nib into a 1/4" drill bit and heat it with a heat gun and the squeeze it down hard to reform the nib slightly. 2 tries had it fitting good. It was a bit snug when inserting but I got it seated and the nib sit tight to the feed. I added my converter filled with Diamine Sherwood green and have it a few minutes. Once the ink started to feed I have it a go and it works great. A real nice flex with just slight railroading if you go too fast. The nib is scratchy (as expected) but writes beautifully. Line variation is from super fine to as broad as can be. I am not an artist but I love the way this nib works. This is so worth the effort to make the conversion. Great way to get a flex pen on the cheap.

I LOVE THESE NIBS!!
I LOVE THIS NIB!I bought these after watching a video on altering a JinHao 450 pen. I did that and I have to say I am VERY impressed!.I had originally bought a Noodlers Ahab over a year ago when I was just getting into handwriting and flex nibs. I have to say I haven't been all that impressed with the Noodlers pens. First, they are expensive, relatively speaking. The fact that I have gotten two Jinhaos for way less will never have me go back. The other thing is that I can swap out the nibs in the Jinhaos with these Zebra G nibs and they write so much better than the Noodlers flex nibs.I have been desperately wanting to improve my handwriting and wanted a pen that could give me that old fashioned, calligraphy style lettering . These Zebra G nibs totally do the trick!. I am able to write very fancy now ;>).WARNING: Depending on the INK you are using and/or pen you may have to play around with getting the ink to flow. If you store your pen upside down it shouldn't be much of a problem, but if you find the ink has "dried up" just open your pen, if you have that style and "force feed" (very gently mind you, not too much) the ink back into the nib and write a few lines or gently tap the nib on a scrap paper to get it flowing again. ALSO for some reason using this nib and or the ink WILL BLEED on certain kinds of paper so be warned. I think it is more about the nib because I am using the same ink in a different pen and it bleeds far less, so just a warning. (can't use regular notebook paper)Other than that, I am toying with getting yet ANOTHER Jinhao 450 and put another one of these nibs in that one too (with a different ink). You get 10 nibs to a box and I only had to replace it once when I accidently dropped my fountain pen on the floor and I think I messed up the nib.. no biggie.I will try and post writing samples later

Best calligraphy nib for beginner
Finally found the nib that works so fine. I am very new to calligraphy. I am self learning copperplate right now. i have bought many set of pen and nib which not quite works. I almost give up, thinking i am wasting time and calligraphy was not for me. I am so glad to come across this Zebra G. it releases ink smoothly, did not scratch my paper, and very easy to control. i am able to create thick and thin strokes much more easily. I also come at very affordable price which i love. I would 1000% recommend this nib.

Good nibs, they work great with my old dip pen.
Good nibs. Still using my first one of the pack. Nice to have spares on hand. I like to do a bit of sketching with them.
