I've found I can safely mix most coloured garments in the same wash, and they all retain their original colour without running into each other. If I have several dramatically different colours (e.g. a bright red skirt and a white blouse) I usually put two Colour Catcher sheets in the washing machine but I've never had a problem. They prevent color runs between different clothes in the wash and any greyness in the resulting outcome. You can tell this from the discoloration of the used Colour Catcher sheets after the wash cycle has ended. I always used to wonder why my colored clothes looked rather dull, but the inclusion of one of these paper sheets in each laundry effectively restores the brightness of individual items and so they are wearable for far longer. Each paper sheet can only be used for one laundry cycle and then they should then be discarded in the bin afterwards.
