I should have done it sooner!!!!
I should have bought this years ago. Make cutting 4x8 sheets down fast and accurate. 10 out of 10The battery life is outstanding. The quality is top notch. The weight of the saw is not bad at all. I also bought 2 55” tracks. This setup makes accurate cuts a walk in the park. I looked at a lot of track saws I feel the value for money is spot on.

Most fun tool in the shop!
I have a miter saw, circular saw, table saw and jig saw, but the TRACK SAW from Makita, there is nothing as satisfying as taking glued up sheets of 1-1/4 laminated plywood and cutting a perfect, perfect edge every single time. I love setting up the track and jigs, the dust collection, the quality of the cut and all the features.

This saw makes me feel much more confident in my ability to tackle projects
Why did I wait so long? I know there are many other track saws but I'm married to Makita. I have a bunch of other Makita tools and I'm very happy with them - so when it came to a track saw that definitely influenced my choice here.About the saw itself...it's magic. When I make cuts with it they look so straight you'd think a robot did it. I had a big project to cut over 100 sheets of plywood and so I decided I'd take the plunge. This saw is just so cool - it takes up much less space than a really nice table saw but with clever work holding you can get amazing results with it. Would I like a really nice table saw with a huge cast iron table? Yes I would. Would I use it enough to warrant the space and money that it would require, no I wouldn't. That's where the track saw comes in. She's a beauty, and using her makes my work look like I have more skill than I actually do.I'm sure the other track saws are awesome, maybe better in this way or that. But if you have Makita and you are trying to decide between this or a Festool, don't bother. Put your money here and the cash you save put towards a Makita backpack dust collector or something.Aftermarket track support is available as well, because the track is the same pattern as Festool. It means you can afford to purchase more track pieces in different sizes. I have four 55 inch tracks and one 39 inch track. I also have the track clamps that Makita sells and those are quick to use and they work great with the tracks. The last accessories that I just purchased are these two items: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZVLCTQJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005NMUC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details.For ANY brand of track saw one thing to keep in mind is that you will want to buy a spare blade immediately. The chance that you'd be able to get a 20mm arbor blade that fits in the saw from a big box store is...unlikely. I accidentally decided to try and cut through a metal saw horse last week and I found out the hard way that these saws don't take a 5/8 arbor circular saw blade (no brand of track saw does from what I can tell). So if you are on a job and you have a time constraint, get a spare blade. If you do end up getting this saw and you want to cut big sheets of stuff, build yourself a table to hold your work piece and also consider building something to hold the pice that will want to fall off after the cut. You don't want to have a beautiful cut right to the end and have the weight of the cut piece create a tear out.But yeah, she's a gem of a saw :-)

Great product, long life, quality tool
- The build quality is good- Battery life is excellent and allows for a lot of cuts. Cut down 6 pcs 3/4” plywood with a range of 12- 23 cuts per sheet and still had over 50% battery.- Track system works great and a game changer for cutting plywood- 45 degree cuts down 8’ worked well with saw and track. Cut roughly 16 pcs 8’ long- Saw and track work well together and allow for quick accurate work.- Track connection is easy and lines up well. I used a 4’ level ( or any straight edge) to ensure 2 sections align. Very simple, accurate, and quick- Battery - key note Makita doesn’t gouge you on replacement batteries (if needed). Other brands significantly overcharge. This is a key item to note as we buy these tools for a lifetime.Overall an excellent product and the battery system work with all Makita tools.

My only regret...
Is that I didn't buy this sooner. Perfect accuracy and smooth cut on the first plunge. Double 5ah batteries and quick charger means my batteries will last all day and even if they're low I can swap out with another tool. Long time Makita owner and the quality, accuracy, and precision of this saw exceeds expectations. If you're having a problem, it's likely your own setup cause this thing cuts perfectly. Dead nuts on 90 and ripped through 3/4 ply, 4/4 maple and even SLICED the cleanest and thinnest edge on some 8/4 Bolivian rosewood. Very impressed with the blade that same stock and the power of the saw. Do yourself a favor and buy it. You will not regret it. Unless... you like wonky edges, Sawdust piles on your work piece, and believe TikTok work tips. If you like those.. reevaluate your choices and sell your tools. Or.. buy this Makita track saw and believe in yourself again. Go #teamteal

Should have bought this sooner
This is just a really nice saw. I read all the reviews and watched the videos by different people. If you want to cut sheet wood products for any precision work, this is the thing you want. I don't know if it's a replacement for a table saw as some have claimed, but for working with 2'x2' to 4'x8' 1/4 to 3/4 plywood, it's the perfect tool. That may sound specialized, and I guess it is, but that's what a lot of cabinetry and projects are built with.I was hesitant on battery power, but much easier than the cord, and with 2 batteries it has plenty of power. I'm using a non-M brand track, and that's fine, too. Blade that comes with it is more than good. If it dulls I'll try to replace with the same. It makes a splinter free mirror smooth cut when new....will see how it holds up, but being name brand and carbide I expect it to be fine.
