Surasang Organic Gochugaru Korean Sun-Dried Red Pepper Flakes for Kimchi 8oz

Although I heard that these pepper flakes are super good to make spicy foods and that the peppers are incomparable to others. I personally didn’t find them as spicy as I assumed the way others describe but perhaps my spice level is high. I would say they are a rather gentle spice that can be built up the more you eat. I can definitely say the taste is more different than I expected as I was told it can be a little nutty? I have yet to compare them to other brands offering the same stuff.For those wondering where they are grown. My bag said china.For anyone curious, I made garlic chili oil with this batch.

Love that this is Organic. I use this to make spicy peanut noodles and am addicted. Depending on your spice tolerance, a little can go a long way. Love the complexity of the flavor.

Very good quality and fresh. The powder has a fragrant smell. I made kimchi and it turned out very delicious. Highly recommended.

These are Korean sun dried red pepper flakes. They have finer texture than regular pepper flakes but not as finer as powder. They are have very good aroma and flavor but not at all spicy. They just have enough heat to give food a good kick but are going to burn your tongue or anything. Beside kimchi, they would go well with pretty much anything you would put pepper flakes on. You don’t really need to use a lot to get good flavor, a little bit goes a long way.

I am surprised how great quality this product is. So pleasant taste and smell. I always had to order paprika directly from Hungary to get the best quality and while it is still true, for flakes I will keep ordering this brand for Amazon ordering convenience. This was my first try of Gochugaru. Thank you for the great quality!

I used it to make kimchi. Also i like it on sceambled eggs, tuna salad sandwiches and anything you want to add a little zing too!.. it is bright red so keep that in mind when using on anything other than kimchi..
