You'll love performing in Sansha's Salsette 1. The jazz sneaker features a mesh upper for comfort and breathability, laces for a custom fit, and a suede sole to help you glide easier. In 1982, Franck Raoul-Duval, a 25-year-old Frenchman with a passion for dance and Russian history, created a new type of ballet shoe. After numerous trials and adjustments, he came up with an innovation that changed the lives of dancers everywhere. The split-sole ballet slipper, with its glove-like fit, was born. Sansha now manufactures an extensive range of dance shoes for everything from ballet to jazz, hip-hop to flamenco, and ballroom to tap. Sansha collaborates with dance professionals, teachers and store owners to remain a prominent brand in the dance capitals of the world.

Fits Perfectly
Ok so I was super hesitant to order these shoes because I needed them for overnight delivery. I read all the reviews and people saying order 2 sizes larger. Let me explain this better. I almost ordered a giant shoe because of this. Sansha has their own sizing. I normally wear a size 6.5 in U.S. woman's. I like my boots to be a little bigger so I figured with everyone saying that they're too small I decided to order a 7 U.S. woman's. Now a 7 woman's is not a 7 Sansha. It's an 8. So if you order a 7 Sansha yes it will be small. You have to use their size guide. People that are giving bad reviews about they don't fit are not paying attention at all to this size guide. The shoes came and they were roomy, since I ordered a half size bigger (U.S. 7) instead of my normal size. (U.S. 6.5). I'm able to wear regular gym socks with them. I have a normal foot, not thin, not wide. I hope this helps with the confusion and bad reviews people are giving over size.

Most comfortable dance shoe ever!
Love these dance sneakers! Like many older dancers, my feet are the worse for wear from dancing in stylish dance shoes for many years. I purchased these shoes on sale on another site to use as practice shoes. So comfortable! Fast forward to experiencing stress fractures and arthritis in both feet. These shoes in black are now my only dance shoes and my feet are happy. They have good support without looking too clunky. They have a very roomy toe box. When I am dressed up, the solid black styling doesn't make them too obvious that they are sneakers. My orthotics fit in nicely without crushing my toes. The size recommendations are accurate. I highly recommend these shoes. As a matter of fact, I'm back for another pair.

Glad I got these. Dance fitness class.
Ordered these and walked around the house for a day to 'break them in' and get a general feel for them. I was surprised how light and flexible they are. I wear a US10 and ordered 13 which is the equivalent of a US11. Be sure to go a size up. These fit perfectly and would have room for socks. I also used them in my 2 1-hour classes. No sore heels or tired feet. They were great on turns and traction. I think the bottom material is soft. I forgot to check. I also made sure I wipe the soles down to remove the build up you can get off floors. I have no complaints except they are super duper cute but when they are so comfortable you don't notice-no problem. I liked these much better than a previous pair of Blochs I had. If this opinion changes I will update this review.

Great dancing shoes but too narrow in the toes for borderline-wide feet
Generally -- following the size recommendation from the vendor fit fine. It's not the size, but the width -- I'm writing a review I wish I could've found.I have feet that are somewhat wide on the ends (the toe area)... sometimes "regular" width shoes, depending on the cut, are OK for my feet, but sometimes I have to buy wide. If you're like me, these shoes are _not_ for you... the toe area is very narrow. That might be great for stability for dancing for a regular-footed person, but. me, I can't leave these shoes on for more than an hour without feeling really constrained. Also, I probably wouldn't look at these if I had an issue with flat feet or my planters' tendon... The front of the heel kind-of has a ridge with a drop-off. I can imagine that bothering people who don't have decent arches. (it also requires careful tensioning of the shoelaces -- my arches and planters are normal, but I definitely feel the ridge unless I get the snug just right.Fussy shoes. On the plus side, they're great for dancing.

A great dance sneaker with a suede sole for Salsa!
These are a great lightweight dance shoe that's good for practice and is comfortable.I'm returning to Salsa dancing after a hiatus for a few years. I'm physicially not ready yet to wear my heels again, so while I get back in shape and strong in my legs, I'm wearing these.I have also have foot issues ( plantar fasciitis) so I wear my Powerstep insoles in these, and they fit great! At first the toe area was snug, but with wearing them they stretched a little and now the fit is great there, too. I wear these twice a week for an hour at a time. I have the Capezio dance sneakers, and they are better for Zumba. These have a suede sole that is essential for Salsa, and my turns are much better in them.Pay attention to the sizing and you will be okay.Happy dancing! :-)

Runs at least 1 size large; great shoes otherwise!
If I took off a star, it would only be for sizing; I ordered 3 pairs before I got one that fit (returning them was an easy trip to UPS, but I had to absorb the shipping charge). I ended up with the 6 Sansha/5 US Women's size. I typically wear a size 6, sometimes even a 6.5, so these definitely run large. As for the shoe itself, I'm incredibly pleased with the purchase; dancing in these made it worth the trouble of ordering 3 (and returning 2) pairs. The bottoms are suede-- I believe real leather-- which makes turning easy, even on sticky marley. I got these just in time for a weekend of dance performances, and they were a godsend for double turns in pieces with a costume dress code of "sneakers." Super comfortable, supportive, and look great on stage. I can't praise these enough, especially at that reasonable price!

Fake Shoes!
Real Salsette dance shoes are adorable: light, stylish and colourful, a pleasure to wear. I had a red pair last year direct from the supplier and have worn them constantly for jive classes and dance parties. Looking for cheaper option (idiot) I ordered some in purple from Amazon last month and got a `copy` pair in the wrong size. Sent them back, woke up and smelled the coffee, and ordered another perfect pair from the proper people - Move Dancewear.Outlets selling copies should be prosecuted.

Perfect for zumba
I've used these 3 or 4 times for zumba, they're perfect for that purpose. I wouldn't use them to walk because they have no traction other than a bit of ribbing in the heel part of the shoe. I followed the chart for size: I normally wear 8 or 8.5 US, or 39 European, so I ordered 10 and they were perfect. May be just a tad wider than normal. Good value for the price.

Fits well
Light weight, more comfortable than my previous line dance shoe, adequate width. The fitting guideline was very helpful and worked perfectly. I usually wear size 11, but the 13 I ordered fits perfectly.

Perfect
I ordered these dance shoes for my son for jazz and hip hop and he says they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever had for dance. Very happy!
