Only 4k@60hz dongle under $100! (with a few caveats)
Only dongle in this price range or even close to it with 4k@60hz support.Pros:- Unique and smart implementation in regards to ports in this price range for a single cable USB-C dock.- High response rate on the DP port with 4k 60hz capability. I did a lot of browsing for a dock and this function is not found at this price (not even close). It may be a very good choice for gaming if you run a high refresh display from a gaming laptop with a Thunderbolt port like I do.Cons:- This behavior is very rare but drivers are sometimes are inconsistent; it has a built in ROM with a driver if needed but it only shows up sometimes and the display will behave erratically if you for example have another setup at work with a different dock like I do.- Power delivery is minimal, will only charge light powered laptops at 60W and this includes the USB 2.0 ports, don't expect to run anything but a mouse and keyboard (tried a laptop cooler as a test with usb pass-through but it wouldn't power the mouse connected to the cooler).- Biggest caveat for me is the network speed is only 100mb versus the more common gigabit which limits file sharing on my home network.- You need a separate charger for power delivery to your laptop, but that's normal for most USB C dongles. For reference, I use it with my Lenovo T480 and an MSI gaming laptop (no power delivery on the MSI).

Worked (mostly) - low cost "Dock" for Dell Laptop
I bought this Cable Matters port adapter / "Dock" for my Dell 7560 laptop. The power delivery never worked even though I was using a genuine Dell USB-C power adapter (the USB-C charger did work when directly plugged in to Laptop) but everything else worked perfectly. Now I get Ethernet, all my USB peripherals, and my second monitor via DisplayPort with only a single USB-C cable plugged in! Would have loved 100W power delivery too, but I just use my second Dell 19V power adapter plugged in to the backUpdate: This tiny "dock" has not failed one time to deliver all the connections to my laptop with over 6 months of daily use. I have never had any device or speed issues and this aftermarket item has been more reliable than the Dell dock that came with my PC. The Dell dock has needed constant firmware updates and this Cable Matters dock never even needed updates or drivers installed to work. Best purchase!

Adapter Issues: Frame Drops and Internet Slowdowns
I bought this adapter because I wanted DP 1.4, but I encountered a lot of problems. Firstly, I don’t know why, but my frame rates in games dropped. The biggest issue, however, was with the internet. I connected my Ethernet, and I usually get around 350-400 Mbps, but with this adapter, it dropped to 90-100 Mbps. Sometimes, it would even disconnect my internet. When I used Wi-Fi, it worked perfectly fine, giving me 400 Mbps. Then, I connected my old adapter from UGREEN, which only had HDMI, but nevertheless, it worked perfectly fine as well.Don’t buy it if you wanna use dp 1.4 with a Ethernet

Doesn't quite deserve 5
***update***Trying to get displayport functionality with this has been awful. No matter what, it doesn't seem to want to recognize any input from the displayport. Everything else (except the ethernet which I didn't test) works fine. Not sure if it's my Intel nuc (8i5bek) or this, so won't dock any stars, but it doesn't do what it's supposed to do, and that's frustrating***update***This is a nice little dongle for a laptop or NUC that has a USB c or thunderbolt port on it. It can take one port and turn it into an hdmi or displayport output, 2 USB 2.0 ports, a micro sdxc card reader, & a USB c pass through cable. It doesn't quite get full stars, because of the USB 2 ports (cmon...use type 3), neutering of the thunderbolt pass through. If you connect this to a thunderbolt port, you basically lose the thunderbolt speeds, since the type c pass through port is only gen 1 or 2, so 10gbps max. Not sure why it couldn't have been a thunderbolt pass through, allocating whatever bandwidth is available if you have some usb devices connected and a hi speed monitor connected to displayport. That would've been nice. It's a good little device if you need a few extra slow USB ports, a USB c port, and more importantly, if you need a displayport to displayport adapter. For all these it's great, but it could have been a lot better.

Perfect for my use
Have been using this thing for over a year, perfect for my use case. I have it plugged into a monitor running at 1440p 180z and the picture is great, with a keyboard, mouse, and ethernet cable all plugged in along with my monitor's DisplayPort cable.

It works, and is a great value.
This is the one you're looking for if you own a recent MacBook or MacBook Pro that you want to connect to an external monitor. It performs exactly as advertised, providing power delivery to my 2017 MacBook Pro (only 55 W, not 60... but close enough), 4k60 video from the DisplayPort connector, and 2 USB 2.0 ports that have proven to be pretty rock solid for my use. Ive been very happy with the unit as a single-port dock for connecting my Mac to my desk. The connection seems sturdy, my monitor works without frames dropping or any other problems, and several USB peripherals connected to a hub all operate fine.I tried many other USB-C devices to try to provide what this little box does and am very impressed with the functionality (it does exactly what it advertises, which is quite rare for USB-C devices right now) and the price. The most important thing to know is to connect the power cable to the adapter first, then to connect everything else. Now, everything just works when plugged in to just one cable on my MacBook Pro.
