Excellent mac mini addition IF on sale - read full review
This is one of those "Catch-22" items. If it's what you need, and the price is right, then it is awesome. If not what you need, or at normal price, it's not a great choice. Allow me to explain. It only has USB-3.0, which means only 5gbps transfer speeds. That's fine for most needs. It has VGA and HDMI, but personally, I think that's a waste. Your mac mini already has ALL the video ports you will need. Does you no good to have more. The reason I bought this was because it had the SATA III slot underneath. I had some extra internal sata III drives from my previous computer, so adding that drive to this, made for a great SSD for TIME MACHINE Backups. Backups don't care about speed, so a 500MB/ps SATA III SSD drive is perfect. The ONLY reason I bought this particular one, is because it was on sale for $29.99. ALL of the external SATA III drive enclosures costs at least that much, if not more. With this item, I also got a mini/micro SD Card reader also. Now... all those things combined made this a great choice. It works great. However, you have to remember that this model uses power from the USB-C/Thunderbolt port on your mac mini. If you try and load up 3-4 usb ports, the SD card reader, and SATA III drive all working at the same time, you COULD put a bit too much power from your port on the mac or for this dock. A work around is to buy this item: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BS9C9RBZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1It only costs $15 (On sale). It is a 10gb/ps USB-C ONLY POWERED HUB. What's great about it is, ALL 4 ports pass data, but the 4th port also can handle high speed charging, up to 20 watts. So I plug this docking station into the 4th port, which gives ALL THE POWER the dock could possibly ever need. And not risk hurting the computer.Now.... if you want the SATA III AND you also want 10gb NVMe or similar drives, this company makes other models for about $10 more than this one. And it DOESN'T have the VGA or HDMI (Which you don't need anyway). But the USB is 3.1 so it can do 10gbps instead of 5gbps; and it has the 2nd slot for NVMe drives. But MOST IMPORTANTLY.... it has a 2nd INPUT PORT for you to plug a POWER PACK into to give power to run both drives and ALL the other ports and card reader. But to tell you the truth, it would cost at least $15 for a decent power pack, so you should STILL get the 4 port USB-C 10gbps hub I linked to. You get the power you need (to plug into that 2nd power inport), but you also get 3 more USB-c 10gbps ports. And the WATT Meter built in to let you know how much power you are pulling.But.... if you only need the SATA III; and the card reader, and the usb 3.0 ports are nice to have, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, the item is on sale again for around $29.99, then this is an awesome accessory. But for $69.99, sorry. Spend $10 more, get the higher version with the power input, and it doesn't waste your money on a vga and hdmi port that you'll NEVER USE because your mac mini already has all the ports for video you'll ever need.

Had for 5 months, works VERY WELL
Used this hub for 5 months specifically for the card readers and the extra usb/thunderbolt connections on my Mac Mini M2. I just recently bought a Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB NVMe M.2 Internal Solid State as per recommendation on the amazon site and installed it. Very easy physical install. Mind you my OS is on the stock internal drive. Upon boot the OS said it couldn't initialize the new drive. Opened the Apple Disk Utility app and erased the stock partition on the Samsung, which was shipped with a PC partition. Erased and selected Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partition and it immediately recognized it and works perfectly. Do this before you google it and select other firmwares for the drive. Very happy with this hub worth every penny and it still has room for an additional SATA drive :)

Good looks can't hide poor performance.
Died after only 4 months. Just long enough to pass the warranty. At first it was finnicky, occasionally disconnecting. Only reconnect after a restart. Then the NVMe drive port died and is unresponsive. SSD drive port hakes a weird vibrating noise. Now it won't connect either drive at all onto my Mac Mini Pro. Piece of trash. Hardly worth the price tag. Very disappointing the trash that is now getting into Amazon stock.

Hard Drive failures just shy of 7 months of ownership
I purchased the Qwiizlab UH25 Max (Silver) on January 12th of 2023 through amazon. I use it with two Sandisk SSD Portable hard drives and one 2GB SSD harddrive enclosed. While editing a video on Davinci Resolve the UH25 disconnected all the harddrives but all the other items connected through USB and HDMI are still working. When I plug each hard drive directly into my mac the hard drives work but they are no longer working when plugged into the UH25 Max. Buy with caution.Update:Qwiizlab's customer service is amazing and they stand behind their product. Their posture to make this right really impressed me. I can now trust this company because they were active in fixing the problem. Great customer service will always bring me back to a company.

Update: the GRAY…
Got an alert from Amazon that the GRAY version was available! Yabba dabba doooo… so I snapped on it. So far so good, quick and easy setup, and was happy to see a very finicky 2TB SSD that isnt recognized by my other machines was immediately recognized after being installed in this enclosure. Only 2 critiques so far: its made from plastic (doesnt appear to be aluminum) and the color doesn’t quite match my 2018 space gray Mac Mini. But it’s close! At least its not silver.I’ll update later if theres anything more to add. For $99 its a decent deal and does what I need it to.——————Original Review Aug 2023:Ironically I bought this by mistake, and didnt remove it from its packaging, just sent it back. I’ve been looking for something just like this in space gray to match my 2018 Mac Mini, but their closest competitor the Satechi doesnt offer it with a drive enclosure or video ports… so I contacted Quiizlab support (yes they answered!) and they said the SPACE GRAY version would be available at the end of September. It’s now mid October… still waiting… did they mean 2024?

Qwiizlab USB C Hub
Product was easy to install and setup, HDMI doesn't work. ( I use a KVM switch anyway)I bought for the intentions of dual hard drives. The SSD works great, I haven't had any issues with SSD.The NVMe PCIe drive keeps disconnecting. I have to reboot to get it to come back on. Maybe it's a heat or no air issue?I am totally bummed about that for the price that we pay on this slim mini hub. Hopefully the company can fix these issues.Update Seller gave a full refund.

Great dock, but you end up with less USB C ports for connecting multiple screens
Great boost to disk space and memory options (when installed) simple to connect. However you need both rear USB C ports connected all the time to the standard Mac mini this means your only left with 1 USB C port on the front of the hub. Tricky when trying to connect a second older Mac display screen (mini display port only) and requires getting a second cable adapter to get it to work - still working on the solution to route through the HDMI with both Mac mini and Hub.Overall happy though gives increased back up storage option via drive and USB3 ports ;-)

The Mac Mini dock that does it all!
Been eyeing a Mac Mini dock with the ability to increase hard drive space. I saw this one and it piqued my interest since it supports both a 2.5 inch SATA drive and an M2 NVMe.It connects through the back with 2 USB-C cables to the mini, so I'd advise you be aware of this if you need a USB-C connector on the Mini for another device because this dock requires both.Fortunately, I don't have a need for USB-C in the back and went ahead with this dock. On the back, it has an HDMI and a display port connection. So in theory, you could get triple monitors with the 2 on dock and the HDMI connector on the Mac Mini.On the front, there's 3 x USB A ports, 1 x USB-C port, and a micro SD and SD reader. For my purposes, I think this is all I need.I've read other hub docks that have issues with drives and I'm happy to report that this docking station hasn't had any issues with my old 500 GB Samsung 2.5 inch SSD drive that came from my Windows PC. It's read only but I'm able to pull data off quickly. I have another 1TB 2.5 inch SSD coming to replace it and hopefully a NVMe in the future. I've not experienced any disconnects of the drive. So far it has worked perfectly. The color matches the Mac Mini M1 perfectly and the footprint matches as well. It seems durable and well built.I'me pretty impressed with it so far. I'm not convinced that the price should be higher than the other options that are out there that supports both the 2.5inch and NVMe drive which is why I took a star off.

It’s quite good, except…
It’s good, useful and convenient, but the enclosure speed is something to be delivered. In that regard, it doesn’t help much if the goal is to extend the Mac mini’s internal ssd with similar speed.
