From its humble beginnings in 1825 in the tiny English village of Street, Somerset, to a global company that manufactures and markets close to 35 million pairs of shoes a year, Clarks' commitment to comfort, quality, authenticity, and individual style has remained unchanged throughout the centuries.

Very nice and comfortable shoes
I wear wide width and these shoes fit perfectly. There are no seams inside rubbing on my corns and the leather is a beautiful chocolate brown color. I took a chance ordering online, but I am very pleased with these shoes and will check out more styles made by Clark since this is my first pair. The soles are made of a nice ridged rubber so I won't slip.

Lightweight Comfort Shoe
I have a knee problem and must wear flat, cushioned, lightweight shoes. I chose this style to wear with socks in the winter and have found the sole to be good on icy sidewalks. I have a narrow foot but ordered a medium after reading that others thought the shoe was narrow to begin with. I would say the medium is a true medium but okay with socks for myself.

Too narrow for medium or wide feet
I got these to replace an aging pair of the Un.Loop, which is better looking in my opinion but currently twice the price in black. The Ashland Alpine has slightly firmer soles than the Un.Loop, which I like because the Un.Loop can feel a little too mushy for my taste. It's also great that they come in size 5. However, on my feet they squeeze painfully across the bunion area, so I will have to return them. They don't look all that narrow, but they feel much narrower than the Un.Loop. Un.Loop has slightly nicer quality and leather insides while these are fabric lined, but the Alpine is still nice. These would be a great shoe if they were a bit wider, but might be just right for those looking for a narrower shoe. A nice touch is that toe portion is a slightly glossier leather than the rest of the shoe.

Awesome comfort and value
After reading the reviews on Amazon and their sister site Zappos, I was sold on the idea of ordering these shoes. Having worn Clarks before, I knew they tend to run wide on my foot, but since I wear thick socks with them I wasn't concerned. Like the other Clarks before, these too are 'generously' sized. Especially roomy at the top of my foot and ankles.I normally wear a size 9.5-10 B in most women's shoes. I like the length of the 10's in these, but could probably wear a 9.5 if I was going to be wearing thin socks. The toe box is a tad narrower than some of the Clark shoes, but nothing that cramps my foot. The shoe is as pictured and very comfortable to walk in. A nice bit of cushion and good flex, out of the box. No real need to break them in.I will be getting a second pair of these to give as a gift. They are a great everyday, casual shoe to go with jeans, chinos or cords. My sister who is a teacher swears by the Ashland Alpine Slip-On Loafer, and now I know why! Really comfortable and well made.

Perfect size, perfect width, very comfortable
My mother-in-law has diabetes and wide feet. She often takes a double wide, but in Clarks, a wide is fine. By comparison, she tried a diabetic shoe by Oasis - a 9.5 2EE - and she couldn't even get it on her foot. The New Balance shoe she tried, a slip resistant cross trainer - fit length and across the instep, but was too tight in the toe box.I ordered about ten pairs of shoes in varying styles and manufacturers. She immediately chose three that fit and she wanted to try on again the next day to see which was her favorite. She emailed the next day to say that these were her favorite. The toe box is roomy, the instep and width perfect and the length true to size. She can wear them with regular socks. She only wore them for an hour in the house to try them, but based on that, she said these were very nice. While these aren't specifically for people with diabetes, she said there were no spots in the shoe that rubbed her or caused any pain.

YES YES YES
These are hands down the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I ordered 9.5 M and they fit just as expected....perfect. I love them so much that as soon as I got them out of the box and put them on, I immediately logged on and ordered another pair in dark brown. I have recovered from a broken ankle that still swells at times. It is so great that they have the "stretch" on the buttons and on the insole side too. They do not stretch out of shape either! They spring back to perfect when I take them off after having a swollen foot. This makes it great, cause I do not have to get a seperate pair for "swollen" days. First shoes that I have been able to wear all day and not look like they are orthopedic !!!! Am planning on getting my two girls ( 21 and 24) each a pair for Christmas. One is a nurse and the other is a supervisor at a energy plant. Long days on their feet. So nice to have something comfortable to slip on when they go out to do things with friends and family. They look great with jeans, dress slacks or capri pants!

Great, comfortable shoes that don't look as "old lady" as some of Clark's other styles
This is a very comfortable shoe. I had tried on another style of Clarks in a shoe store and was impressed with how comfortable they are. That being said, the pair I tried on in the store was U-G-L-Y. That being said, I am used to choosing shoes based on fashion rather than function so buying a comfort type if shoe is quite a leap for me. I have started wearing more flats since becoming a mom but these are the first pair of shoes I can wear for hours and my feel are still happy at the end of it. It makes a huge difference! These were the cutest pair I could find while not paying full price ($100+). I got these for thirty bucks and they are totally worth it! Know that the 3 leather pieces over the toe area are a bit different in coloring, which isn't my favorite but not a big deal. Probably the only con-- small-- but thought id mention it.They also got wet from a fair amount of water spilling on them while I was wearing them and no stain or water mark was left which I was glad about.
