Overall great product
I just unboxed it. It did have some kind of light residue on it and a slight smell (saw the smell with some other reviews). I don't think this was a return or that it was used, I think it was just part of the manufacturing process. I took a rag and some cleaner and just wiped it down and both the slight odor and residue were gone. I would generally do this with things I buy anyway, it reminded me of the way some rubber or plastic balls have been when I purchased them in store before so I really think it's just part of the manufacturing process and not an issue. It appears partially deflated but I believe that is on purpose. The instructions that come with it say it's ready to go, so try it out that way for a week or so before you mess with the inflation. Immediately upon sitting on this in my leather office chair, I noticed it forces me to sit upright and not slouch which was one of the main reasons I got this, so success! I am also hopeful that it will work out some of these muscles that don't get a lot of use as a side benefit. It also feels comfortable to sit on. I can lean to the left or right, or wherever and feel movement and my body adjusting, so I think this is going to work great! I'll update this review if anything changes, I'm loving it so far and I think you will too! Just wipe it down when you get it, and leave it alone, try it for a week before you make any changes and go from there!

To each their own - everyone's body is different so this may or may not be a good purchase for you
I read previous reviews and I understand where some people are coming from but others - completely ridiculous.First off, IF YOU HAVE WOODEN CHAIRS, I have no idea why you would but ANYTHING on it besides soft cloths and wood polish, and your bum. Anyone who was ignorant enough to put this product, made of this sort or material, on a WOODEN CHAIR, really should reflect on themselves for a minute. All the bad reviews that this product received due to people not properly caring for their furniture should be disregarded. Also, in the description it states that it comes PARTIALLY INFLATED. Full inflation is NOT COMFORTABLE, BELIEVE ME. I have tried it! Partial inflation is definitely key to making the cushion more comfortable. Otherwise, it ends up being a hard piece of plastic! All of the negative comments regarding the state of its inflation should also be disregarded. It comes partially inflated for you inflate to your desired comfort level.I use mine for my office chair. I use it intermittently only because it really does leave you a little sore (which is a GOOD THING; it means you are engaging muscles). I am a little over 4 months pregnant and any little active thing that I can do when I am at work helps with everything! I sit anywhere from 8 - 10 hrs, 4 days a week and the other 3 days I am active on the beach. But those beach days do not make up for the amount of time I am sitting and I think this is truly a great way to keep my core engage while working!I recommend anyone who has to sit for extended periods of time to give this product a try. And PLEASE... make adjustments to your comfort level before you bash it. This is a very simple product with a very simple concept and it seems like people just automatically jump to negativity because they can't seem to get it right due to user error.

Try it before you knock it.
Gaima has AWFUL practices. Let's start with the fact that I received a clearly used product that you are supposed to sit on. Bottom is worn, the inflation opening is scratched around the surface and the product arrived pretty heavily deflated. It seems pretty clear that somebody got the product, used it, didn't like it and returned it and Gaima then sent it to me. Extremely poor form. So, my product looks nothing like the picture because it arrive so deflated I could touch the top to the bottom. I pulled out my foot pump, attached the needle (which only by sheer persistence worked because I had to keep putting it back in the hose) and performed CPR on the pump for about 20 minutes. There must be another dimension houses within the ball because air was going out of the pump, it wasn't leaking out of the ball or the hose and the ball didn't inflate one bit. I chalked it up to being defective and tosses it back in the box with the idea in mind of returning it.Well, I bought the ball as part of a total-body physical therapy measure to both help me regain strength after my last surgery and to help me recover from my next surgery. I was farting around with some resistance bands I had and trying different exercises from different angles and I was having a rough time getting full range of motion on some quad and hip exercises because my legs were just a bit too long. I broke out the ball, plopped in on the chair and sat down. I'm not very heavy and I'm not very tall- 5'9" and 170 pounds. When I sat on the ball the air pressure caused by my weight caused it to raise in height several inches and straightened my back, extended my stomach and raised my knees so my thighs were parallel to the ground and my feet were flat. I instantly felt sore in my lower back and lower abdomen. It was working EXACTLY as it was supposed to.Curious, I then took it to my office chair, where I couldn't touch my heels to the ground unless I sat on the very front of the seat (which then causes me to slouch as my back rounds out to accommodate the downward slope of the seat) and puts pressure on my lower thighs (which hurts my knees because it causes my heels to hang). I plopped the ball down in my chair and sat on it. Again- spine goes straight, knees come up, thighs parallel to the ground, feet flat on the floor. Soreness in my lower back and lower core.Gaima's business practices aside, this thing works PERFECTLY. Give it an honest shot. I can't speak to how well it will work for much taller or shorter or much heavier people, but the ball I got is exactly the dimension I needed. Don't toss it before trying it, even if it looks lousy when you get it.Three stars because it works. Minus one for the condition it came in and the non-function of the inflation aspect and minus one for the fact Gaima clearly sent me a ball someone returned.
