This was a life saver pun intended. The representative from my security alarm company was trying to charge an arm and leg for this on top of the house call and installation. Amazon never fail.

Doesn't work
Tried placing the magnet where the old one went and then gradually moved it closer until it was physically touching the sensor and it still didn't read as "door shut". Multiple orientations tried. Needs stronger magnets.

They work well as a sensor, but they are a little hard to open
These work fine as a door/window sensor. They respond to the magnet just how you'd expect. The only gripe is that the contacts for the sensor are inside and it's a bit hard to get it open. It's even harder to get it back closed afterwards.
