Works great most of the time. Sometimes it starts to analyze then makes a pop and shuts off. After waiting about 15 minutes, I was able to use it again on a different power supply and it worked great for analyzing every plug. Then I tried it again on the first one and same outcome. Not sure why that one power supply shuts it down but if you have only that one power supply you want to analyze and it is similar to it, you are going to think it doesn’t work. Otherwise, recommended inexpensive tool! (If I ever figure out why that one doesn’t work, I’ll update this review -but don’t hold your breath!)

It works. It requires no power source beyond the psu, and it can check most of the power cables. It does exactly what I need.

The “paper clip” test (shorting power and ground pins on the ATX power connector) can’t verify that all other connectors are working properly.This little device helped me confirm a DOA motherboard and saved me a lot of hassle. It is well worth the money.

This PSU tester is a fantastic tool for diagnosing power supply issues! The 24-pin connector is a snug fit, but it works perfectly once connected. The instructions included were thorough, written clearly in English, and made the process of plugging everything in straightforward. I really appreciated the beeps that let me know when it was ready for the 4p, 6p, and 8p connectors (didn’t try Molex or SATA, but I’m sure they’d work just as well). It helped me confirm a failed power supply—just keep in mind that the tester is powered by the 24-pin, so if the PSU is completely dead, the tester won’t light up. I tested it with a second PSU, and the device worked perfectly, showing accurate voltages. The only downside is that it didn’t include instructions for unplugging, but that’s minor and doesn’t affect its performance. Highly recommend this tool for anyone troubleshooting PC power issues!

Works as it should. Since I'd accidentally mixed a cable in with a new, modular power supply, it fried an expensive optical drive. I removed the power supply and cables without first marking them (because manufacturers don't bother putting any type of mark on them to distinguish them from any other modular cable)... my mistake. Rather than trace the wiring to find the different cable, this was easier to verify that the voltages were on the correct lines with the power supply I was testing.
