Bringing back old clothes to life.....
I used these Dylon Washing Machine Fabric Dye Pods in Intense Black on two pairs of faded black jogging bottoms, and they’ve really brought them back to life. After countless washes, the joggers were looking tired and dull, but one cycle with the dye restored a rich, even black across the fabric. They are 80% cotton, 20% polyester. The process is straightforward: just pop the damp clothing into the drum, place the pod on top, and run a 40°C cycle. No extra salt or detergents needed....Once finished, I ran a rinse cycle with my usual detergent to remove any residue, and the result was excellent. The coverage was very even, with no streaks or patchiness. It’s easy, low fuss, and cost-effective compared with buying new joggers, especially as there was nothing else wrong with them. I put them straight into a normal mid to dark wash after the first use, and they have not bled into the other clothes.Overall, this product is perfect for refreshing faded black clothes. It’s simple to use, gives professional-looking results, and has saved my favourite joggers from being retired too soon. A solid buy for anyone wanting to revive black garments at home. So much easier, than the old fashioned methods.... win win for me!

Very good quality!
Very good quality product! My colleagues told me about it and I bought to extend the life of my works clothes, which were very comfortable but looked a bit worn out. This product helped me to wear them for two more years and saved me a lot of money in the long run.It is very easy to use and does a great job if used according to instructions, without leaving any patches. Very good value for money.

Great idea for restoring worn or dull colors on some types of clothing.
I was looking to recolor some stuff that was looking pretty color worn, so i decided to try the Dylon Grey washing machine pod. You get enough dye for 600g, that is essentially one pair of trousers and one shirt, or say a few smaller items. I picked the grey, because it was the closest color to my faded trousers that I could get.Preperation is fairly simple, you wash the clothes first (unless they require a pre dye solution), then add the dylon pod to the wash. Select cotton 40 degrees and let the pod wash the clothing. Once that is done, depending on washing machine time, you will need to then rewash the clothes again in normal detergent. Hang up to dry, do not use a tumble dryer for this process. You then need to wash the machine again empty, to make sure you have removed any remaining dye. There are many variables to a successful dye wash, one being the material is suitable for the dye, the color. The wash time for the machine can vary considerably for a full forty degree wash, can take as long as three hours. It is not recommended you use any eco wash load cycles either.I had a successful outcome, both clothes (trousers and hoodie), (which had color worn wear marks), looked better and should last a few more months longer. I was impressed at the results on these fabrics. There was no color patchiness I just let the clothes dry naturally. The pods are reasonably priced and very good value if you want to try and save a piece of clothing that is materially dull or lost some of its color.Something to consider however:The amount of time needed in the washing machine for a forty degree wash for the dye pod can be as long as 3-4 hours in wash cycles. This does not include at least two more hours for pre-wash of clothing before use and then another post wash to clean the machine after use. This time will vary between machines though, so maybe slightly longer or shorter depending on the make and model of machine you own.Pros: Easy to use, comes in a range of dye colors, comprehensive instructions.Cons: Does not work on synthetics, must be 40 degree wash and may require a pre dye wash pod too.

Good dye
I aways use the Dylon dyes. Used this to dye some jogging bottoms. Colour came out quite a nice dense black and has revitalised the item so will get much more wear out of them. I also find these dyes don't run in the wash like other brand do. Beware if you're dyeing a large amount as it's best to open the container and pour the dye into the bottom of the drum. It does advise this on the instructions located on the top of the container. Previously I dyed some towels using 3 tubs of dye. I didn't see these instructions and just put the tubs in the wash. The dye did not come out evenly and now have some very dark patches where the tub must have got trapped in the washing and didn't evenly distribute the dye. Overall, excellent stuff.

Great product
Dyed my pale pink denim jacket to a blue grey colour, amazing colour and the stitching stayed pale pink which makes it even more unique, process was very easy

Hit and miss experience
One item I dyed worked fine, the other came out with blue splotches all over it and is consequently ruined. both items are 100% cotton, but the second one is larger than the first. Perhaps it's the size, but I would have expected a fainter overall dye, rather than blue patches. I could try re-dying it a darker colour (black), but that's not really the point and there are no guarantees that would work. Somewhat disappointed after the first item dyed really well.
