Philips DVT6000 Voice Tracer Digital Recorder with 3 microphone autozoom, 4GB, colour display, anthracite

This is so good. It is able to pick up whispers from over 10 feet away. It is also able to automatically adjusts its sensitivity for its surroundings. It can also pick up talking and shouting from over 40 feet away, which most phone microphones fail to pick up. The sound recordings are excellent and there is space for extra storage with an SD which needs to be formatted. It has an inbuilt radio. It is also has some shealthy features such as Turing the screen off when recording to make it appear it is not recording. It’s also great for recording demos of me playing my instruments too.

High quality recordings.Was useful but has stopped switching on after 6 months with only occasional use. Doesn't switch on even after charging. Will try the warantee.

I purchased this digital voice tracer to record what is said by a medium in trance. Sometimes the beings that use the instruments voice talk a little quietly so I needed something that would record speech at low volume. This voice tracer does exactly that. I am able to type up what has been said easily. It does the job well.

Bought this to record meetings and it doesn't excellent job. Plenty of options available which can sometimes lead to confusion. Lots of storage space without having to put an extra memory card in. Clear easy-to-use instructions. Does what it says on the tin.

A huge disappointment. For the price this is very poor quality for money. First impressions - Looks cheap and has stickers across screen and speaker. On test the functions are easily mastered and set up takes only minuets. Recording is straight forward but playback volume on full is lacking to poor. Unlike it's sister app on iphone, editing and deleting parts of the displayed voice trace is not possible so just a gimmick. You cannot transfer MP3 files from other sources to the folders A,B,C or D as they will not be recognised. All files have to be date and time stamped by the machine it's self. Music files can be transferred OK. Size is 'bulky' and light in weight - does not feel quality in any way. All in all a very bad buy and will certainly be returned for refund. Not recommended.

I love this unit, fantastic clear recordings and super sensitive, so well made thus being all metal, go for it, you'll be very pleased with it.I'm a very fussy person, but this is a top-notch no nonsense product.

Way too pricey for the sound quality with which it records. I have heard phone's with better recording quality. This is, in a lecture hall environment by the way.

Es un buen equipo, tiene varias funciones que permiten obtener una buena grabación de audio, la batería le dura bastante, el almacenamiento es basto, lo único es que su captación de sonido no es de muy alta calidad, para realizar trabajos escolares o no profesionales es la opción.

Molt bona gravadora. Va perfecte amb una bona qualitat de so per enregistrar una classe, fins i tot amb soroll de fons.

The first thing you need to do is update the firmware that is available on the Philips website. Then remove the features sticker covering the speaker for better sound output. Don't use that cheap micro usb cable that comes with it because you will surely damage it. Buy a standard micro usb cable and charging cube from Amazon will work fine. So far it works great. However, I will keep an eye on the battery life over the next couple of weeks to see if that is a problem.

I'm moving into a field where interviews and transcriptions are a critical part of my work. I was seriously considering some of the higher-end digital voice recorders. After lots of reading reviews (here and elsewhere) I decided to give this one a try.So far, the recordings have been crystal clear and phenomenal. Easy to transcribe and even relatively distant voices or focus groups come out great.Transferring to PC is super easy. I'm even on a Linux system and it was a simple plug, copy, paste. Done. No other software installation.Battery life seems... unbelievable? I have best settings enabled, and even after several interviews in a row barely seem to have used any battery. I feel like I could go on an ethnographic safari with this thing and still have battery at the end of the adventure.
