How thick are the plates?

I don't have exact measurements but they are only maybe 1/3 of a cm thick or so. However they are very sturdy, and I believe the bigger one (that mounts on top) if not also the bottom one have a soft surface that contacts the desk, so a tiny bit of added thickness there.
