TQPONLY Overhead Console Dome Map Reading Light Lamp Compatible with Dodge Ram 1500 2500 3500 4500 5500 Replaces 1DK78BD1AA

I was trying in to replace the overhead console lamps with LED bulbs. As careful as I was, the old plastic was brittle and one of the hinge pins for the lense cover broke off. I bought this unit as a replacement. I have been pleased with the quality and color match of this unit. It looks and works great.

It was a perfect fit for my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. The color match is excellent. The problem with the old one was that the original style bulbs melted the housing. I am hoping the LED upgrade will be cooler. These lights have not worked ever since I bought the truck in 2014. BTW to remove the lenses, you MUST take them out at the pivot point first. Use a pick tool or very small screwdriver and pop them out one side at a time to access the removal screws (t20 bit) that hides under the lenses. The front clips come out just fine. Leave the original rear clips in the truck and just unscrew the clips from the new one and chuck them in the trash the old ones that remained in the truck will thread on the new screws just fine, or use the old screws. The reason for leaving the old ones in is that they fit into a plastic housing and they are in there so solid you will likely tear apart the plastic housing to get them out and now have another part to replace unnecessarily. Trust me,,, just use the old clips. The trip computer/compass portion comes out of the old unit with 4 Phillips head screws. Super easy, just don’t over tighten them.

Looks like original! Perfect fit. Real sturdy feel. Easy install, only a few screws and 2 sets of wires.. oh and EXTREMELY bright!Might swap out the l.e.d.'s it came with for ones that aren't as bright.

Perfect fit ,color match , quality and the price is decent .. After reading the reviews its obvious installer error was the cause of bad reviews in most cases .. Pay attention to detail of the removal and installation !

Fit and finish was great on tje main piece. Took the lenses off to change to leds I already had and both lenses broke going back on. The led bulbs I had where not as bright as the ones that came with it. The piece and the led lights in this are still a great value but Id buy a set of mopar lenses before hand if you ever have to change the bulbs youll need new lenses but the bulbs they come with are nice and bright.

They had the product in stock at Amazon for fast delivery and the plastic and color match up nicely in my 3rd Gen Dodge Ram 2500. They worked fine when the door was opened, both map lights and the dome light came on as expected. I found an issue however with manually switching the map lights on and off independently. I had already been changing my interior lights over to LEDs so the dome light had been replaced with an LED. I've seen compatibility issues on my truck with LEDs so I replaced the map light LEDs that came with this console with ones that were in the LED kit I had used for the dome light. That solved the problem and now the map lights function properly. This console is a quality product, just be aware of potential LED compatibility issues.

The console is great, fits perfectly, light buttons have a good, strong, positive engagement click. The color matches flawlessly. The ONLY issue is the included LED bulbs. It’s nice that they have cooling fins built in, but the end contacts are loose and the bulbs didn’t work. I had replacements already so it was no issue for me, but if you don’t already have LED bulbs in your Ram, buy a pack and swap these out right away.
