Macroblade 84 ABT addresses the biggest concern of most skaters...how can I stop? The ABT brake system provides control and stability for new skaters who need a little extra confidence and support when stopping. Traditional brakes work very well, but can be challenging for some to use. Skaters have to lift their toes up on the braking skate and roll on just a few of the wheels which creates some potential balance or fear issues. ABT, on the other hand, is cuff activated and allows the skater to slide their braking foot forward to keep all eight wheels on the ground adding stability and enhancing balance during the braking process. This results in a smooth, gradual braking motion which instills more confidence in the skater. ABT is also height adjustable so as the brake pad wears down, it can be lowered to enable the foot to slide forward the same distance every time for consistent stopping power and technique. The ABT system comes on the right skate but can be switched to the left one. Using the brake will be easy and comfortable because the Macroblade boot will blanket the feet in comfort and the wheel/bearing set is ideal for skaters to have the right amount of speed and control without going too fast.

Great Skates but slow bearings take the fun out of your ride
I got these skates to replace a similar model that was at least 15 years old. There's a very steep hill in my weekend skating route and am really reluctant to give up ABT brakes, so these work for me. Yes, I probably should get a more expensive pair with larger wheels, but I skate for only an hour every one or two weeks and never really learned to turn my foot sideways and drag the whole foot to stop. . The skates are well built, have slightly larger wheels, and are comfortable. So why only 4 stars? ... the bearings suck. Ok, maybe "suck" is unfair and misleading. The bearings are smooth and solidly built, but are really slow. If you are an absolute beginner, you need slower bearings and these bearings are probably perfect for you. However, if these are a replacement skates, then you want to glide like ice skates on fresh ice and the only way to do that is to yank out these bearings and put them in the trash. If you cannot (or in my case won't) pay for expensive ceramic bearings, then I recommend ABEC 9 steel bearings from Rock Star Bearings. I took the Rock Star bearings out of my old broken skates and I was back in business. Yes, there are other fast steel bearings available, but I haven't yet tried them. Rock Stars are affordable, but hard to find, so you may want to visit skate or skateboard sites to get other bearing recommendations. Remember, you need to buy 16 bearings. Yes, this adds to your expenses, but good bearings are essential to make these skates perform.

ABT Technology is awesome. Boot....Mac 100 3wd much better but....
Would love to love these skates because the braking technology is truly incredible. A game changer but absolutely stupid to not offer it on other intermediate transitional skates like the Rollerblade Macroblade 100 3WDs. Anyway back to these. The boot is not really that great but is as good as any of the 84mm boots out there right now. Again, the Rollerblade Macroblade 100 3WD boot is much better but no ABT tech on this mid level skate.So I will keep these and try and learn to deal with the lousy boot.

Great Beginner's Skate!
My first set of inline skates. Chose Macroblade 84 because of combination of performance and braking system. Fast but not too fast to learn on and be able to stop safely. So far they have lived up to my expectations. Comfortable boot, size as expected. Stock bearings and wheels leave a lot to be desired but that has been remedied. Braking system is great for a novice like myself. My only concern is that the rivet at the ankle hinge on the boot has begun to oval out and there is now more slop than normal.

Good for a beginner
I'm a beginner and the support is great and the ride is smooth. Takes a bit getting use to for applying the brakes but good value for the money.

Muy buenos patines, te deslizas muy suave y con poco esfuerzo, el único pero, es q el arco del patín derecho cala un poco después de patinar un rato, incómoda un poco pero esa incomodidad no me obliga a quitarmelos, debo mencionar que mi pie es delgado y No es plano, tengo un arco muy bien formado por lo que definitivamente es el patín.
