Darice Thread Organizer, 13-1/2 by 8-1/4 by 2-1/4-Inch

I had two of these that are 40 years old, and polystyrene does crack eventually. I bought these as replacements, and they are exactly like the old ones. Will hold normal and small spools of thread, but will not fit those extra tall-style spools. Unfortunately, when I got them the posts were all crooked and melted, like they had been exposed to high heat while being stored sideways. I was able to fix them using a heat gun to remelt them a little and gently straighten with some pliers. It wasn't difficult to fix. I plan on keeping these for at least the next 40 years.

It arrived cracked and there is no replacement available from Amazon for the same price. Next lowest price is about 50% higher. This must have been the last in stock and probably a previous return. SIGH (My experience with Amazon for 3 of my orders in the past 2 weeks has been awful! A package of food arrived unsealed, another organizer was so badly constructed that the thread would not go back into the organizer and now this broken case problem -- the first 2 items I dumped immediately into the trash; this one I'm returning because I'm very, very tired of paying for useless stuff that is generally not worth the trouble of returning.12/5 Reordered at the higher price because it is really exactly what I'm looking for. Second organizer arrived. Also broken, much smaller break that the first one but still leaves a sharp edge that I'm sure would cut me. Returning for replacement .... maybe, third time's the charm.Third time is the charm! Unbroken and works just fine for my purpose. Fits in the sewing machine drawer like it was made for it. Changing review to 4 stars (12/18/19)(Still concerned by the increase in price between the return of the first one and one I ordered as a replacement. When offered the 'return and replace' for the 2nd broken one, there was no price increase. Either didn't notice that option or it wasn't offered for the first organizer.)

I like the loose lid and the very clear plastic. I wish the bottom box had a wider edge/lip so the top lid would stay on straight and not be such a pain to get right.It fits all the following thread brands which I own, ñ MN MN. Nhb NJ 8 including: Mettler, Metrosene, Mölnlycke (as small as 110 meters/120 yards), YLI Silk (Japan), Belding Corticelli, Sulky, Talon American, Singer, Gutermann (up to 1000 meters /1094 yards), and Coats and Clark (up to 274 meters/300 yards).Sometimes, on only a few of the pegs, the smaller Coats and Clark spools (123 meters/135 yards) don't slide all the way down. Not always, so it seems the peg bottoms may be a bit thicker.The loose lid still closes just fine on them all. Those I ordered were well padded and wrapped, so nothing was cracked or broken. I have six now and am ordering two more.

This box holds the thread nicely. The only complaint that I have is that the lid just slips on and off. If you knock it over you have thread going everywhere. I had to put a rubber band around the whole box to keep the lip on. That is the only thing about this box that I would fix.

These are great thread organizers. I ordered three of them from this seller. I received them on time, but one of the lids was cracked in one of the corners. I can still use it but I wish it was not damaged. I do not want to return it, so I wrote a packaging review hoping the seller would respond. They did not. The damage was not caused by the shipper because the outside box was not damaged. The organizer packaging itself was not damaged. It may not have been noticed prior to shipping because it is a small crack. I know this is not the place to complain, but I don't see another option.

I already had one of these clear, acrylic, thread organizers and ordered a second one for my smaller spools. They stack perfectly and the one I’ve had 4 years has been sturdy with no cracking. It arrived in a box with bubble wrap and was in perfect condition in a sealed, plastic wrapper.

It holds all my small spools of embroidery thread. I knew I would have to leave the lid off, but I wish the bottom fit inside the lid so it would sit on the shelf. It doesn't slide on or off the box easily, either. The plastic seems sturdy enough. Would work fine for sewing thread if you don't have to open it too many times.

We have purchased several of these for my wife's embroidery thread. She removes the lid and places them in drawers in a cabinet so all she has to do is open the drawer and the thread is right there, nicely organized. Great product!

I had just put all my thread in it and I accidentally dropped it and it shattered. I liked the concept of the design, the case just needs to be sturdier.

Ordered three. One came with the top broken into pieces in two corners. Not worth the hour drive I would have to drive to return it since I live in the county.

Thus was the perfect size to fit in my sewing drawer. It was poorly packaged for shipping and the lid was cracked on arrival, i am not returning it because I don’t need the lid.

For the function I wanted it for, it works great. The only "ding" is that it arrived with a crack in the lid-however not in a place that would jeopardize function.

I like seeing what I have (various colors), and that it's two-sided to maximize storage space. Good to have extra thread for minor repairs. This holds a LOT of thread. (48 full-sized spools).

Attractive, well made, works well. The first one I ordered arrived broken, and the seller replaced it immediately with no fuss. Sometimes the lid is a little difficult to seat properly, but the boxes stack nicely and allow easy perusal of thread stash. The box is solid and I expect it will hold up well.

It doesn't hold the larger spools of thread have to mix sizes to make it work
