Great value for mechanizing multiple blinds - DIY delight
I had purchased blackout roller blinds for a set of three large windows, but the roller stops didn't work well, and I wanted to try and automate them using this product.I bought one first to try it before going for all 3. Experimenting with how I was going to install definitely saved me time for the other 2 installs.I reused only the shade material from my blinds. I purchased 1 1/4" EMT tubing from a local home improvement store as I couldn't find aluminum roller tubes that weren't overly expensive for the sizes I needed (nearly 4' and nearly 8'). One question was answered through my install, this combination of the 1.5" motor did work OK with the conduit with a few minor modifications.-I cut the tube to size using the fabric as my width guide-Using an exacto knife I carefully removed a small amount from the black rubber piece so it would fit into the tube better. I tried to remove only what I needed so it wasn't jamming in as this is the piece that actually turns the tube.-As the conduit doesn't have any internal ribs, I drilled a small hole and inserted a nail into the rubber piece through the tube to prevent slipping (the seller recommended this). Measure the location and drill before you put the motor into the tube.-I also shaved down the plastic fins on the idler bracket a a little using a box cutter. With these modifications I was able to adapt and get the motor in the tubes.I purchased the brackets sold by the seller which worked well.Programming the remotes gave me a little trouble until I realized that you need to EXACTLY follow the sequence of setting the up and down limits, IN ORDER as written on the instructions. Once I did this it was simple.I purchased the 5-channel remote from this seller so all blinds could be controlled from one remote. The seller was extremely responsive to my questions with the product during the whole process. That was great and totally helped me out.Had I stopped here I still would have been very satisfied at the ability to automate a whole wall full of window blinds for around $400 in all (including the conduit and a few other supplies). As the last step was I purchased a Broadlink RM 4 Pro on Amazon, installed the app and "learned" the roller blind remote function. With this I can create routines and automate raise/lower times. (The Broadlink only will control raise/lower, you need the upper/lower limit setting from the Rollerhouse remote.) As others said in the Q&A, 433.92 is the frequency to use. I haven't yet integrated the Alexa part but apparently that is possible. Now all 3 blinds raise and lower in unison at my preset times.Totally worth it!!

Simple, reliable, easy to install and operate
I originally bought Rollerhouses to replace the Somfy motors in my Comfortex Shangrila sheer blinds. They are chargeable and their RF protocol is far superior to Somfy’s RTS. The range is greater: I can send commands from 100’ away compared to 15’ with Somfy. Then I ordered more Comfortex blinds. The tubes for all the Comfortex blinds are the same, whether you buy them motorized or not. So I got the cheaper blinds with the pull chain, took the chain mechanism off and replaced it with a Rollerhouse motor. It worked perfectly. I also have blackout blinds behind the sheer blinds in the bedrooms. Again I bought the chain operated and replaced with Rollerhouse. I did the same with some much cheaper blinds from Amazon for my son’s apartment. I had to file off about1/8”” of the plastic end piece to make it fit. Again, no problems. I use the Neo Smartblinds controller for all the blinds. I also have some very large outdoor insect blinds with other motors shipped by the manufacturer. But all the blinds are controlled from one app. I schedule blackout shaedes to come down in the evening. The blinds on the East side go down 20 minutes after sunrise and rise again 3 hours after sunrise when the sun is no longer baking in. On the West side they close earlier to block the sun, then move to a see through position later. I also have the controllers on all the rooms for manual operation. I have been using Rollerhouse for over four years now. They are easy to physically install. Setting the upper, lower limits and favorite position is not complicated, but you must concentrate and follow a disciplined approach or you get confused and must repeat. They are very reliable. They hold a charge for many months. I charge all 45 blinds within a day using the 12v chargers, so it’s no hassle. They are quiet and smooth. The service was excellent. Because I was placing a big order I wanted to know if the black rubber grommets would fit the flanges in the tubes of the Comfortex blinds. The communication with Rollerhouse was excellent. They sent me a whole bag of grommets as a spare (although it turned out to be unnecessary.)I am extremely happy with the company, the product and its functioning with the Neo Smartblinds controller. I highly recommend Rollerhouse. And Neo Smartblinds.
