This is a Keeper!
A miracle! It has taken me less than an hour to figure out if this device is a keeper. And I must say, it absolutely is! I was running my computer audio out to a DAC that connected to my stereo receiver. Sound quality was very good, but the I loaned the receiver out to my son and, well, you know how that goes. So, I happen to have a stereo amp I figured I'd hook it up to but, oops, no subwoofer connection. So, now I needed an intermediary device with SW out port. A streamer didn't make sense since I already have the audio from the computer. And go figure, many DACs, at least the ones around the $100 mark, don't have a SW out port. Then I ran into this little gem. Has a dac, preamp, and almost all types of connections, including SW out. I have to order a USB-C cable so, for now, I have it running off the toslink from my sound card. When I put my ear up to the speaker to listen for what I was sure would be some signal level noise, I was amazed! There was none! It's quiet as a church mouse. Even running music through it via phone BT and the app, no signal noise! The app, by the way, is great. Besides bass and treble settings, it has an 8 frequency EQ and you can set and save your own custom settings or pick from the presets. And as if the phone app isn't enough, they even throw in a full function remote, which I'm thinking will just stay in the box for now. The music sounds fantastic and you really can't beat the price. In fact, I couldn't find anything out there that comes near the features for even double the price. So, what's not to like about this little gem? It's a streamer (via input device apps), it's a dac, it's a premp and all the connections are pretty hip. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone. Enjoy!Update 3 weeks later: The audio has been cutting out in the RCA out channels every 2 hours or so. You have to unplug, then replug the power cord back in. Problem fixed. I just discovered that others have cited this issue. I was going to return this item and repurchase the same item for fresh 30 day return period, but now I think I'll just keep it and live with it. Other than this, no complaints.

This unit has a known issue! beware
I'm using the DAC c port connection to my computer on the BP50 preamp . Issue is, Audio cuts out suddenly and often while using the DAC connection. Temporary fix is I have to turn the unit off and then back on again to get the sound to come back on. this issue keeps repeating every 5 min or so for me. depends if I'm listing to music or watching a youtube video or what ever.I read on the Arylic forum site that other people are experiencing the same issue. I contacted customer service through email they admitted they are aware of the problem and said they will send me a new unit if I send the unit back to them. they want me to send the unit all the way back to China. they will not answer my question if the new unit they are going to send me has the issue fixed. my guess they have not fixed the issue and I'm going to have the same issue with a new. and yet they continue to sell these units without warning.Bought through Amazon. my email communications has been going on for over a week ,I'm now 2 days past my window of return.

Great device, great price, all the needed features
This device has all the features I need in my receiver: phono pre amp, DAC input, EQ via the app, sub out, and more. You get a lot for the money. It works and sounds great. The app works very well. The EQ works good and the options for enhancing the bass, as well as blending it between speakers and sub, are great.

ARC funtionality sets it apart
I bought this for it's ARC functionality. It generally works well. Occasionally the volume will cut out and require a "reboot". The iphone app is very easy to use, and usefull. You don't have to login in to use it. It gives you an option to skip that. I like how versitile and straightforward it is. Bluetooth range apears to be good, even in a closed cabinet. If I last had it set to bluetooth, and it goes into standby mode, it will not automatically detect the TV signal and switch to ARC if that's the how it's to be used next. I have to switch it to ARC. Not great, but not a deal breaker. Originally I ordered the integrated amp version of this, but it did not supply nearly enough volume. I sent it back and got thi pre-amp, and paired it with a Fosi V3 amp. That combination works much better. I can just leave the amp on all the time - it's silent. It would have been nice to have other choices for an ARC enabled small (pre) amp, but this one works pretty well.

hit or miss with HDMI ARC functionality
There aren't a lot of options out there for 'budget' preamps with HDMI ARC functionality. I was looking for a preamp/DAC to sandwich between my older Vizio TV (D65-E0, circa 2017) and a FOSI BT30D Pro, that would allow me to use just one remote for everything.I previously tried the SMSL PS100, but in addition to the audio cutting out intermittently, the HDMI ARC functionality (at least with my TV) had the volume increasing in increments of 6 (ie: 25 > 31 > 37). I returned the cheaper SMSL and order this BP50 with high hopes, but alas encountered the same issue. I played around with every possible setting on the TV as well as my Amazon Fire stick, and even updated the BP50's firmware, but still had the same issue.Seeing as how I'm now resigned to using 2 remotes instead of just one, why would I want to keep the BP50 with it's arguably inferior DAC chip (same as the PS100's). I'm returning this, and will now just order a Topping E30 II Lite, which has a much better DAC and the same preamp functionality. (...interchangeable with the SMSL C100, but I prefer the larger display of the Topping.)That all being said though, if the 'increments of six' doesn't bother you, or this just plain works properly with your setup, I still think the BP50 is a worthwhile purchase. The build quality is very solid, and the other functionality seems to be ok.
