The adjustable metal won't stay form in place which is difficult to use. Junk

I've been putting up with a cheap set of hands for years. I never used the magnifying glass and it was always a hassle to get every thing adjusted for that first solder attempt. No longer. Vacnite makes it all easy. I've been using it for a week or so and I have no complaints. Sure... it's a little pricey but I figure this will last a life time and will handle any future project that I might encounter. Definitely worth the investment!

Very bright light, large magnifying glass lens, could have some more articulation in the lens action, soldering gun holder puts the helping hand out of balance when rotated out, the soldering gun in the holder will tip the helping hand over, otherwise it is a good buy and I will probably use it a lot for my projects.

There is a lot of attention to detail here. Each clip has a means to rotate and to lock into a position irrespective of the position of its arm. Also silicon clip pads are offered free by the manufacturers.The base has nice feet and is heavy enough to supply a steady platform for an operation.

I've purchased other "third hand" tools that were flimsy and easily fell over or the piece would fall to one side as soon as you applied pressure with the soldering iron; this one was obviously designed by people who knew what they were doing and intended to use their own product.

This is a phenomenal product. It is built solidly, and everything stays where you put it. Above all, Alphidia, is a top notch company, with real customer service. Do yourself a favor, forgot about the other helping hands and just buy this one, you'll be glad you did.
