Best Budget Choice
The Scarlet 2i2 (Gen 4) has been a great improvement from the previous gens but its still has its similar pros and cons and you need to know what exactly you want to do and what inputs/outputs you need before buying.ProsIt has a great pre amp - low noiseAuto Gain and Clip safe is a interesting additions that seem very helpfulAir can add a nice touch to your vocalsHi res audio, supports up to 24-bit/192kHz which is great for any home studios and even for professional standardsIt also has a great simple user friendly design which makes it easy to useAlso very good build qualityI don't believe there's many cons butLimited input/outputs so you cant have complex setupsNo midian issue some people have it doesn't power off when my pc shuts down so I'd like a power button but a simple fix is just unplugging it when you are done with your work if it bothers you.In conclusion the 2i2 Gen 4 is a great product with little flaws and great audio quality and user friendly features. Any potential buyers should make sure their specific connectivity needs are met and consider other models if any other inputs/outputs, or MIDI inputs/outputs are needed. So make sure it has all of the ports you need before buying so you don't have to upgrade to even more expensive gear later on just because the 2i2 is missing some featuresThis is also great for any streaming needs you just might have to download third party software if you like to have live eq on your mic.

Fantastic Audio Interface – Perfect for Recording!
The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (4th Gen) is an amazing audio interface for recording and songwriting. The sound quality is crystal clear, with low latency and excellent preamps that make vocals and instruments sound professional.Setup was quick and easy, and it works perfectly with my DAW. The build quality feels premium, and the USB connection is solid—no issues with stability. If you're a musician, podcaster, or home studio producer, this is an excellent investment. Highly recommended!

Completely amazing device that also looks the part
My first ever audio interface. I've started to dabble with music and was using a RCA 3.5 mm straight out of my Mac into my Audioengine speakers. I have a piano, a guitar and a microphone and wanted to start to take sound more seriously and get these instruments and mic connected to my computer in a "proper" way. So an audio interface is needed.I bought the Scarlett Solo 4th gen. I do not think at my stage I need any more inputs. I was initially looking at much more expensive audio interfaces such as the Antelope models that are upwards of £700. But so many people recommend the Scarlet for beginners for the superb build and sound quality.I picked this up in Dec 2023 when it was on offer for £81. It is absolutely superb and easy to use. The sound quality now that I connect my amplifier directly to the Scarlett is amazing. I can also play my guitar and piano through this either through the speakers or via my headphones to save annoying everyone in the house! I really do not know what spending much more money would deliver. Maybe more features but for someone with modest needs like me the Scarlett is more than capable.Build quality is very good and it is a very attractive in a red metal and is built to last. It is small and discrete. Some of these audio interfaces are big and bulky, but not the Scarlett.Simplicity itself to connect it up on my Mac. Just go to Settings>Sounds and then select the Scarlet which automatically gets added to the list of devices. No need for messing about with drivers etc.I was a bit surprised that upon delivery it was quite lightly packaged. But it arrived perfectly sound.Delighted with it!

Great value, good product, beware of Windows McAfee compatability
Important to consider as a Windows user is that if you have McAfee installed, you should use the MCPR from McAfee website to remove it from your computer BEFORE downloading the drivers for this product as it may give you the bluescreen of death and force you to do a repair of Windows.Beyond this, the product was purchased on end of year sales and is great value for money. The software bundle with this product is amazing and includes industry heavyweights like Native Instruments Massive and Antares Autotune. The interface itself is really good for a bedroom producer, songwriter and professional starting out, it has 2 inputs for mics, guitars etc. As some others mentioned there is no off button so will need removing when not in use but this is not a problem for me.The headphones are well built, they have decent sound quality although not quite at the same standard as some of the pricier studio wired headphones available. They are certainly sufficient for most entry level or beginner musicians.I have not tried this microphone just yet but it feels weighty and solid and comes with a foam pop filter and a clamp for your mic holder (need to buy a proper mic stand separately) but they provide a cardboard holder if you are short on cash.Overall very satisfied, just make sure you remove McAfee before attempting to install drivers or you may have a mini heart attack when you get blue screens and put into recovery mode. Always do your research! You can of course reinstall McAfee after the drivers are installed.
