Ideal functionality - but not quite
After collapsing in my bathroom in the middle of the night and failing to wake my wife who was sleeping in her own bedroom - even though I screamed with all my might - and because I was unable to get upright again (bare feet kept skidding on rug), I felt it was time to get some sort of emergency alarm. We have linked Amazon Alexa devises which will if shouted at to “ANNOUNCE” followed by your help request, repeat the message, however, volume and tone are not amazing and as she refuses to have one of those “always listening - big brother” devices in her room, I had to research another method.Much to my surprise there are lots of products on offer, ranging from the red emergency pull cord type to this style of unit.We live in a 3-bed bungalow with attached garage, after moving a couple of years ago, because of mobility issues, from a 4-bed house with stairs. The bungalow is quite spacious and very sound deadening efficient, so when doors are shut, noise from one room cannot be heard in other rooms or hall. In fact, you hear more noises coming from outside, especially car doors being slammed etc, than what emanates from within the bungalow - quite strange. So, my best scenario would be to have four or five emergency button devices, activating on one or maybe two alarm triggering devices. With maybe one of the buttons being in my wife’s bedroom in case she needs help. We are both approaching our 80th birthdays this autumn, so although not what i would call ‘frail’, are subject to many ‘old age’ problems and ills. This particular product, being reasonably priced and having many bonus features, seemed ideal, so I purchased 1 x two receiver 3 button unit and 1 x 1 receiver 2 button unit, thinking that all buttons would activate as many receivers as needed. I was wrong!Being originally designed it seems, with care homes in mind and using a three colour flashing warning light, to indicate which room’s occupant needed attention, the maximum buttons each receiver can activate is 3.The 3 button unit I set up to activate a receiver placed in the hall on the loudest alarm setting, which is quite loud and can be heard outside. 1 button, with lanyard attached, is stuck on a surface in my bedroom, just outside the entrance to the en-suite - being reachable in all areas that I move around in. Another button was stuck near the toilet and because all buttons are splash-proof, the other button was stuck in the shower, away from the direct spray of the water. The 2 button unit I intend to take on holidays, as one time I fell in the bathroom and had a hell of a job getting my wife to hear my cries. I may even get another 2 x button unit to install in the main bathroom which my wife uses - 1 button near the toilet and 1 in the shower/bath area. It’s a shame that all 5 buttons couldn’t link to all receivers and that is why I left four instead of five stars. These easy to install, highly functional and well made units, not only give peace of mind, with safety high on the agenda, but they offer countless opportunities to install in lots of out of way areas, such as garages and garden summerhouses etc, because of their extraordinary long operating range. All that said, just like smoke detectors, I recommend changing all batteries at least once a year, especially as the quite extensive and informative user manual does not say if the units have a low battery warning, something which is highly unlikely.

Works well and reasonably priced
These are brilliant. Really helped when a relative had a fall and needed extra care. You can change the volume easily and have an option for an alarm or more of a doorbell sound. The receiver fits easily on your belt/waist. Seems good value for money and has worked really well.
