These magnets are very powerful. I got them to use on corsages for a wedding. They would definitely hold through a thick dress or suit. You must slide them off of each other. Don’t pull!

I am a magician and make my own tricks. The magnets need to be super powerful for my tricks and these magnets pack the pull I needed. Excellent!

I ordered the 20x5x2 and the 10x5x2 magnets, and when they arrived I realized they were pretty weak. I think it's partly due to them being about 8-12.5% smaller in each dimension than advertised. Mine ended up being 19x4.6x1.75It's not a problem because my application can stack the magnets to increase strength, but I am annoyed that these aren't 2mm +/- 0.2mm, they're 2mm -0.2mm. I will probably order from someone else next time.Update: After ordering similar magnets off a certain competitor site, I am even more disappointed by the size accuracy and the strength of these magnets. I will be avoiding amazon magnets for the foreseeable future.

Like most rare metal magnets these babies are strong and brittle. Not for the average young players. After few minutes of handling and a few accidental oops! That's too close, you find yourself with cracked/broken pieces. I believe the coating is for a smooth and pretty finish, not a protection of the magnets. It would have to be much thicker to prevent cracking on impact from each other, similar to glass. At first, I thought these aren't as strong as stated but after handling I realized it was not the strength but the distance I was misjudging. These babies strengths are an exponent of distance. At the surface, they have an extremely dense magnetic field. As distance increases strength decreases. As the size of the magnet is small the distance of the field is small. All things relative, after a better understanding of the basic characteristics of the material used, I have a greater respect for the making of these. Excellent Product and great price.

Good qualities , good product

Excellent powerfull magnets. Were perfect for my project.Unfortunately, the package had 7 less magnets (so just 63 instead of advertized 70).But not returning so my project remains on track.

I'm using this in a product prototype to clamp a tablet to a surface. They are crazy strong and if you are careful how you manipulate them they won't break. But given their shape and strength they're not intended as regular play-toys. They do seem fragile and capable of disintegrating if you don't pay attention to how you're holding them when you bring them together. Apply sideways torque and I'm sure they'll snap in half. So don't bring them together like that. I've bought them a couple times now and haven't broken one. They are provided all bundled together separated by pieces of plastic.Treat these more as bonding agents than play things. They hold with great strength. Highly recommend.

The item arrived in poor condition. Many of the magnets have very small chips in them, but chrome over the small chips. Indicating poor quality control in the production process.I purchased the 12 x 5 x 3 mm size rectangle magnets, thinking they would suit my needs. They are stronger than sticker magnets, but very weak compared to rare earth magnets from other vendors. They will barely suit my purposes. I have some 10 x 5 x 2 mm magnets from a reputable supplier that are more than twice as strong as these. I am not sure what gives, but I'm assuming they skimped out because these perform very poorly.
