My Gen 1 Smittybilt X2O 12K winch has taken a beating over the years—sun-faded, dusty, and looking worn from SoCal weather and a few Death Valley runs. I finally grabbed this El JEFE winch cover, and I honestly wish I’d done it sooner.It fits perfectly—snug but easy to pull on and off, even one-handed. The material feels tough and durable, not cheap or flimsy, and it’s absolutely stood up to the Southern California sun so far without fading or cracking. It also blends in nicely with my black Jeep—low profile, no ugly logos, just clean and functional.For the price, this thing is a no-brainer. Keeps the elements off my winch, looks good, and gives me some peace of mind that I’m not letting more UV destroy my gear. If you’ve got a Smittybilt or any winch you need to protect/ hide the blemishes of, this is great value for quality for that purpose

I got this to cover my 10K Smittybilt X2O with synthetic line on a 04 Jeep TJ. It covers the winch well and the elastic is a very wide strip that seems strong.When I took it out of the bag I could not believe how it felt and looked. It was very nice and looked like it would cost much more than it did. I am very impressed and think it looks great on my Jeep.To help protect it and keep it nice I used 303 on it which is a UV protective spray. I've used it on motorcycle dash bags that material seem very similar to this cover. It has helped keep them looking new so hopefully I have the same results or at least extend it's life between covers.UPDATE 4-19-2021: So I have had this on my Jeep since Nov 2019. Over the weekend I was on the freeway and doing 70-75mph when suddenly the cover started to come off. I tried to get over and stop before it flew off but I didn't make it. I stopped and back up but I was on a three lane road with a good amount of traffic and the cover of course landed in the farthest lane from me. I sat there watching traffic and looking for a break, and almost wrote it off as it was hit by many vehicles and I could not imagine it was going to be usable. Just as I was going to pull off I got a good break so I ran out and got it. Once I got to where I was going I was shocked. I couldn't tell it had been hit, run over, and smacked at all. It had no damage hardly at all. No rips or holes anywhere I could find.What happened is the elastic had gotten loose over time and just was not able to hang on at the higher sustained speed above 70. Being that the cover is still usable I simply took two Velcro straps I had around the house and used one on each side to strap the cover onto the winch. One just inside the power wires and the other just inside the clutch arm. This way the straps can not slide off....shouldn't anyways.I also have another on my truck winch(Smittybilt X20 12k) but it is a hidden winch inside my bumper so it does not deal with everything the Jeep cover has....but still it is in great shape and these covers are great bang for the buck.

Great cover but I wish there was a drawstring in it so that it doesn’t blow off in a wind. My cover blew off while in the highway and I could not turn around to retrieve the cover. This cover is well made and fit my Warn winch. I loved this cover and I purchased a different replacement which was a mistake. I’ll be getting this cover again.

Use this on both of my 12,000 lbs Badlands winches, Fits great good elastic covers the whole wench, nice and tight

Bought for my Harbor Freight Steel wire 12,00 apex winch and it fit really well bought about a year ago and hasn't had any problems. Still looks brand new. Will buy again if somethign happens to this one.

Seems to be made good. I guess time will tell but my trailer sets under a shade tree so hopefully the sun won’t hurt it too bad. But it fits really tight on my badland 9500 winch

Fits just right over a Badlands APX Winch. Perfect price for what it is, I’ve bought 2 and the the first one that I bought 4 years ago is still looking great!
