Kasumi - 7 inch Vegetable Knife

I like this knife. The light Damascus pattern looks amazing. I own an 8" Kasumi chef knife and while this one didnt arrive as sharp as the chef knife it is still more than adequate. One word of advice: YouTube a few videos to get a few pointers about how to use it. I was trying to thinly cut green cabbage for coleslaw but it seemed difficult to cut by placing the tip on the cutting board and chopping straight down. Once I figured out to "push-cut" and follow through on the cutting board, it cut like a hot knife through butter.

The old adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. I had several Kasumi knives that I purchased in France a few years ago, and have been very pleased with their sharpness and ease of use. I saw this vegetable cutting knife on Amazon and purchased. It's an excellent addition to my collection. Pricey, yes. But it will last a lifetime.

I did a ton of personal research on knives, both for functionality and aesthetics. I landed on the Kasumi knives and I have not been disappointed yet! Well balanced, sharp, and beautiful knife. Follow the instructions on the knife, don’t use this on hard root veggies & also only hand wash kitchen knives. I expect this to last a long time and look forward to buying the rest of this set in the future!
