Over the moon with this purchase!
This camera is great! It is a very good quality camera that not only looks great, it works amazing too. The Nikon coolpix L310 was definitely a good purchase! I wasn't expecting much to be honest, because the price was the one of the lowest that I found online...however it has gone up and over all expectations. The size of the camera is perfect for me. Its not too bulky and heavy, as well as having a slim shape. It took me a couple of hours to get to grips with all the buttons (which there weren't many of) I easily learnt how to change the settings, video record and even try out many of the photo uses. E.g--Pet Landscapes-Close Ups-Party/Indoor-Night LandscapesThe camera takes great close ups, I experimented with christmas tree baubles, household ornaments and even raindrops on the window! Every photo was perfectly clear. The camera also takes great wide shots and landscapes, in addition to great pet portraits (Dog wasn't very happy after being followed around for an hour though) :DI am very pleased with the quality, look and features of this camera and I am overwhelmed with this purchase. I am definitely recommending to everyone looking for a low priced, good quality camera!

fantastic for the price, but don't expect a DSLR
As a slightly better point and shoot with better lenses , sensor and a dozen more settings this is a great little camera.Missing features are continuous shooting which is something I would have liked. I also sort of miss the option to choose my own settings (appature, exposure etc) but again this isn't a DSLR.The zoom is very good and the4x digital doesn't spoil the detail as I feared it would I already have a few cracking shots of wood mice which with an order art snap shot cam would have probably been useless.a manual zoom isn't available and this would be handy for some trickier shotsThe body is a nice ergonomic shape and so far I have found it really nice to handle.I have pointed out the bad side but I still really like this camera and plan to have lots more fun testing its limits and trying to produce professional quality photography.

Great camera, reasonable price
I'm an amateur photographer.Got this camera for holiday. It is a great all round camera and reasonably easy to use however to get the best out of it you do have to use the mode selections to full advantage. The sports function is great for high speed action. Got some great shots of great white sharks using it, again getting all the settings right aided this and got some great shots (which I'll try and upload shortly). Zoom function is great but you have to use maximum resolution to get the best images and hold the camera very still (ideally using a tripod with vibration function off as per instructions) and any fast moving action is not going to work well using digital zoom (ie full zoom in). The only downside to this camera is the software for imaging which if you've got an iMac or mac product is totally useless. I'm led to believe it's bad on pc's but it's unusable on macs. I ended up uninstalling it. This will mean panoramic imaging for the camera is not possible but it takes good shots without this function.Summary; fantastic all round camera. Spend time reading instructions to get best out of it. Software for computer totally useless hence 4* rating. Camera itself 5*. Enough said.

Great camera
Im new to photography so this was my first every camera of my own, i think that the camera is really easy to use and perfect for any situation. It takes AMAZING quality images and never fails me. Its light and compact too, it has a good zoom and great focus. Value for money wise its a bargain! It looks stylish and has a great feel to it too. The neck strap is comfy and the lens cap is easy to use and is good quality. There are no major faults with the camera its a general all round good gadget to have. It is capable of party's, photography, holidays or just portraits. AKA its very versatile and useful. I fully recommend this camera, go for it you wont regret it!

Not Impressed
I purchased this camera in october last year and was really happy with it. It takes great shots and is a handy size. The only thing i could complain about was having to use batteries which i am not used to in this day and age. However, shortly after a month the camera stopped working. At first it would start switching off every time i tried to take a picture. It would zoom in and out, flash and then turn off without having saved the photo. Now the camera doesn't even turn on. I have tried changing the batteries and the memory card but nothing seems to work and i wasted £136 for just a few weeks of good photos.I am now not even able to return the stupid thing OR contact the sellers as there are no contact details available. I do not recommend buying this camera unless you want to be stuck with a defective camera.

I'll stick to my Canon
I bought this as a general backup to my Canon EOS. I was at an event recently with the Canon and I was continually having to swap lenses to cope with close-in and group shots. I figured if I had a decent backup camera with a decent zoom I could cover all eventualities without the lens swap hassle. I've tried using the Coolpix but I have found it difficult to reliably get decent pictures. It's probably my incompetence, but pictures I would take with the Canon without even thinking, don't come out well with the Coolpix. Don't get me wrong, I've taken some good pictures with it, (particularly outdoor landscape, landmark type pictures). But indoor family pictures are a bit hit and miss. I think I will stick with my trusty Canon and put up with the lens swapping, (or invest in a bigger zoom lens).
