Great for car
Bought this to use in my car. Very compatible and easy to use. Can access music in multiple ways - artist, album, random - to meet your preference. Since I use it in my car I don't have review for the screen quality or design since I only use the interface system in my car and not the physical device itself. It's still working perfectly almost a year after we purchased it so I would say it is a great quality and value for the price.

Fun to try
Cheap MP3 player. Got what I expected. It works pretty great, love the bluetooth, so much storage, I have over 200 hrs of music I want to download to this, so it has been a sucky lengthy process. Small and good to use instead of my phone (which has a battery life of 30 minutes).

A great expandable light durable MP3 player.... can't beat the price for all of this! Updated...
An excellent MP3 player for the price and size. I wanted something small that I can put in my pocket when I walk or sat on my deck with my AirPods. I know I could just use my phone but this player gives me a break from the phone and it has a small screen and buttons. It is perfect for any physical activity and is light as pen... plus it has a micro SD slot. More than enough room for my music collection. I would recommend this for sure! UPDATE a few weeks later, it freezes quite often. It doesn't recognize my sd card at times. I've reformatted it several times and I'm done with that. It is stuck with playing my albums in shuffle mode. It has become very buggy. I don't think I would buy it again if I had to. Don't throw away the packaging or you are stuck with it!!!!

Awful Product. Terrible customer Service. Disappearing Playlists. Missing music from playlists.
The Good. The Bad. The Ugly. Nice packaging. Smaller and more lightweight than my Sony MP3 (not that it is a good thing, just stating a fact). I purchased this to "give it a shot" because my SONY MP3 NWZ-E385 16gb walkman started having a lot of trouble restarting and freezing (this after only a month, having had my previous earlier SONY model 8gb walkman for 6 years with no problems until it died). Because it was purchased as a "refurb" on Amazon, I had no warranty. The reason I chose this model of AGPTEK was because it had a slot for a micro SD card and was affordable. I purchased a 64 gb micro SD card. I was already using the AGPtek recommended Media Go with my Sony MP3, so transferring my music and playlists was a breeze. Transfer to the micro SD was rapid. I placed about half of the music on the player itself (about 1000 songs and 6 playlists). I placed about 1000 songs and another 6 playlists from those songs on the micro SD card. The micro SD card can be accessed by using the micro SD card placed in the adapter and inserted into the USB of your computer. Or while the AGPTek is plugged into your computer, MEDIA GO lets you choose which storage option easily (the micro SD (called the card folder) or the player itself: called the local folder). Each still has a ton of room left! I wish SONY Walkman had this micro SD card option. The GOOD news ends there. The bad. Fully charged, I went to work and looked through my playlists to begin my day. I wear gloves all day so having a playlist that lasts 4, 6, 8 hours or more is extremely useful so I don't have to go back to the player menu and remove my gloves. I noticed some of the playlists I had added to the player (local folder) and to the SD card (card folder) were missing. Hmm. Okay. I figured I must have done something wrong. So I listened to a couple of playlists that were showing up. Not having the computer with me, I could not verify how many tracks should be in the playlist, but I started to think, some stuff is missing. Back home that night, I plugged the player back in. Interesting, all playlists in both locations show they ARE there. But they were missing when trying to access them that day. I double checked the tracks that should be in each playlist, hmmmmm, a lot of tracks were missing! So I tried to "re-put" the playlists but each time Media Go would say those were already in the playlist. I did this double checking every single album, every single playlist. Fully charged, back to work the next day. SAME PROBLEMS. I also use my playlists for themed parties. It is essential to know that the playlist will be there and all the songs/tracks are included. Over the next couple of weeks I tried to solve the issue myself. I removed everything from both locations and started over completely....a couple of times. The playlists that didn't show up at all always changed. One day they were there, the next day they were gone. However, the missing tracks from the playlists never showed up. I read over every question submitted on the Agptek forums and Q&A site. I submitted the problem on the AGPTEK Q&A site on around July 14, 2016 with no reply. I also tried to submit with the form on the 'contact us in agptek' website but an error message keeps popping up. Note: when the AGPtek is plugged into the computer and you access it in Media Go or Windows Media Player, all of the playlists play perfectly. The UGLY. I emailed "Leo" at AGPTEK (as instructed on the limited warranty card) beginning July 24. In 3 weeks time we have went back and forth and back and forth. I asked them for help and that I would post the solution to Amazon.com to help out others with the same problem. I have spent countless hours trying to go through the playlists to tell them exactly which songs were missing. The very first email "he" replied to, he suggested to update the firmware. I did. No resolution. I went so far as to screen shot my computer and to send them a 9 page color .pdf document. I showed them some of the playlists that had tracks missing from both locations (micro SD and the player itself) and how they look when the mp3 is plugged into the computer (complete) and what the original playlists and albums look like in Media Go. I typed out the song information (file size, etc) for many that were missing. I also sent them a photo of my AGPTek screen so they could see how it looks on the player. I have spent more than 10 hours on this and trying to make it as simple for them to understand so they can send me a solution. (I have a lot of Asian and international friends, so I'm used to breaking down the language to make it as easy as possible). Each response from "leo" seemed to be more and more confusing and evasive. (it no longer seems like a language barrier but a stubborn attempt to push me off) For several emails they only focused on the SD card. (the problem is the same on the player itself and the SD card). At one point, even after the in-depth .pdf, they wanted me to video my player and send them a video of the problem. Are you kidding me? One email response from them included a link to a brief youtube video on how to create and transfer playlists from Media Go to the AGPTEk. I had already told them I did it successfully and had been using Media GO for a year with my Sony Walkman. Another useless response. At one point I asked if they ever read the .pdf file I sent to them. When they became obsessed with the SD card, I asked, AGAIN, what about the player itself?? Forget about the SD card, what about the same problem that the AGPTEK player is having? No response. Two things they will have you check is: "And the player support mp3 format:Bit rate(8kbps-320kbps);Sampling rate:(8KHz-48KHz)"-they wanted me to check everything or send them the songs. Say what? There are HUNDREDS of missing songs. I checked everything myself and ALL of my stuff met these requirements. All of my albums are English titles with no strange characters (something I read on a Q&A). Remember everything I put on there was on my Sony Walkman with no troubles. If you have ever been swindled you know that one thing a swindler will do it to talk in circles. Talking in circles to confuse you so that in the end you don't even remember your original question or problem. I believe this company is a joke. The customer service is terrible. Not only is the problem as stated simple to understand, they have never once offered for me to send it back (I saved everything and the box) to have a repair done. On their warranty card it states "AGPtek offers a warranty of 6 months", but get this, it goes on to say, "if you leave a good user rating for our product, the warranty date can be extended to 12 months as an extra return for you". However, on the box itself it states "5. The device comes with 12 months warranty. Please contact us at [email protected] for granting 60 days money back protection." I am sure they are hoping I will give up and go away. Time for me to inquire about this money back protection. Wish me luck. BTW, my husband kept searching and found more people with the same problems with this player. Learn from our mistakes. BUYER BEWARE.

hilariously bad, worth the money
understand that when youre buying this product for 30 bucks, youre making a tradeoff from processing power to storage spacethe hardware is a little slow compared to my 8GB walkman, but ofc, its just a MP3 player, youre not playing Doom on this thingthe real issue is the absurd lack of cohesion revolving around everything software-related with this product.the UI navigation has got to be, hands down, the worst experience i have ever had to deal with, and that somehow makes this a compelling challenge to learn to use, in the same way that Bennett Foddy makes engaging gamesive never asked myself if i could replace the operating system of an MP3 player beforei mean, look at this thing, and tell me what any of the buttons dotrick question, none of them do the same thing consistently from feature to feature, or even moment to momentsometimes the back button is the left arrow, sometimes its the volume key, sometimes you have to press up a couple times and then the play buttongood luck figuring out how to escape the FM radio the first timewant to turn the volume up? assuming youre in the dedicated music playing environment while your song is playing, you need to hold the down key, "VOL," before pressing left and right, as opposed to up and downthat wouldnt be so bad to get used to, if it wasnt for the fact that if you use this muscle memory on half of the other sliders in the UI, you will instead go a few pages back and forth through the menusyou need to press up and down (on the Menu and Volume buttons), to make your brightness slider go left and right, for examplewant to turn your volume down?thats right, you need to HOLD the volume key down for a couple seconds, before pressing the left key, ensuring that if you ever need to turn your volume down, you will always suffer a least a small period of uncomfortable pain while you fumble around and wait for the device to catch upyou will also have to manually navigate across the entire operating system from wherever you might be, to reach the dedicated media player before you can even have the option to hold the volume buttons' button toggleand the system will always save your current location in the operating systems entire directory,so you will never be able to just turn it on and pause your music, if that wasnt exactly where you were when you last left itin general, if you press the right buttons for the wrong amount of time, you will do the wrong thing, fly to a point in the file system thats a ways from your current playing song and you will have to find your way back to where you were as punishment for your mid inputsif you would like to learn how to operate this mp3 player, there is a manual, but it basically tells you up front that its not their problem if the information in it is wrong, and some of it is, including contradictory instructions on what individual buttons do in the same context, incorrect instructions on how to do basic things and references to buttons that do not exist on the physical device, sometimes all three right next to each other, notably in the - somewhat important - "Music" section, on page 2 of the manual, somehow.physically, this thing is alright.the matte finish seems engineered to absorb your hand grease when you touch itit already had shiny spots on it out of the box just from where the protective film was in contact with itit could maybe do with 2 more buttons, since the UI navigation apparently needs it so badlyit has a built in speaker, its as bad as youd expect. still tho, i wasnt expecting it to have that featureit uses a USB-C charger, but it is in no way close to thunderbolt speeds for transferring songs, it took me a period of hours to upload my library of music. bear in mind tho this problem can be easily circumvented by just using a microSD cardthe real star of the show is the microSD slot, rated for up to 128GB, but i was able to look through a 256GB card filled with 8 years worth of photos at the usual 1 frame per second, at least until it inevitably reached a format it cant read and booted me back to the end of the folderit has bluetooth as well, which is another upgrade from my 8GB walkmanthe thing that sold me on this product was the review from a mother who said this thing had survived multiple trips through the washing machine, and multiple dropsi bought this with the understanding that it is an overpowered nokia phone, and in that regard im not disappointedall in all, its terrible, but functional, and im still not sure if im going to keep it yet or not, even after writing this review.i do have a strange fondness for unnecessarily bad design, in the same way i have a taste for unnecessarily bad music to fill a 32 gigabyte mp3 player with expandable storage.
