Excellent for an Epiphone SG 400 Pro (and an Epi Les Paul Special- VE)
I bought this for my Epiphone SG 400 Pro. Installation was surprisingly easy- a gentle tap on the original nut loosened it for easy removal (it was held on by 2 small drops of glue). I did not have to modify the height or width of this nut as it was near-perfect (I carefully measured with a digital micrometer). I only had to sand off the length of the nut (each side to ensure symmetry) with some 400-grit sandpaper. The result was a fit that was as perfect as i could have hoped. The nut itself is a huge improvement over the stock nut and the strings no longer bind in the slots. The Epi SG came with a white nut, but I decided on this black nut to match the headstock. I like the look, but the white version of this would have been fine too. For a very modest cost, this is a big improvement.Update (11/13/17): I purchased another identical one of these TUSQ nuts for an Epiphone Les Paul Special (Vintage Edition- VE). As with the Epi SG, this greatly improved the guitar's tunability. Great upgrade!

Perfect fit for my Michael Kelly Patriot Decree Guitar!
This was a perfect replacement for the factory nut. I did file a very small amount off both ends as the width was just a tad too wide. As to the string heights, I used #120 sand paper on a flat surface and carefully sanded the bottom to get the string heights to between 0.15 to 0.12mm at the first fret. I do not recommend filing the slots themselves as then you will have to file down the top of the nut to have the nut shaped properly which is a lot more work. The string depths in the nut as set by the factory are perfect. Filing the bottom is tedious but fool-proof. You sand, reinstall, check the string height and repeat until you get the clearance you want. Go slow with this and it will be perfect. My guitar plays as smoothly as my Gibson Les Paul R9.

Great nut!
This nut absolutely cleared up my tuning issues on an Epiphone LP Studio. Strings are easy to tune now and they stay in tune. Only wish the nut had been a little truer to the original size, but i get that the nut has to accommodate a range of different guitars. It was a bit taller, wider, and thicker than my original one so had to do more sanding. That being said, I'm glad I got this! Didn't even need graphite or anything to help lubricate it more.

Night and day difference on my 2005 Epi Les Paul Standard
Bought this to see if it would help with my tuning stability... and it did really help quite a bit, I don't seem to have to retune after every song, even with lots of bends. It fit pretty well overall on my 2005 Epi Les Paul. Though it isn't exactly drop in, I did have to do some sanding and checking fit, and then continue to sand to get the height correct. I used 800 grit sandpaper to adjust the fit before gluing. Since this was the very first time replacing a nut myself I took my time and continued to check fit regularly.Once I had it glued in (and after masking off areas around the nut) I sanded down the sides to adjust the overall length to make it fit flush with the neck, here again I used 800 grit to do this as I didn't want to take too much at one time.If you have no idea what to do, graphtech has a decent youtube video, not to mention Stewmac as well, amongst a billion other how to videos, so as long as you go slow and work with patience it is an overall easy task to complete and well worth the little bit of money you would spend on this nut.You will be surprised how your guitar will sound once its done. I highly recommend this nut.

Make sure to check/call Graph tech BEFORE ordering
This will not work with a 2014 (Aug) Epiphone ES339 Pro. The e string is bottomed out on the fretboard. The B string also buzzes. That being said this is a solid product. My main reason for the purchase, besides the cheap plastic nut, which does work, was my G string is a pain. If I tune and slightly tug on the G and EA strings I get a "tink" and out of tune. After I spend an hour trying to install it (working on width and length) I decided to play a while on the EADG strings and really loved the tone and tuning. You can tell a big a big difference. Bends resulted in the string going right back to tuned. I pushed on the strings above the nut and they did slide freely over the nut, right back to tuned. Mainly no hang ups on the dreaded G string. I believe if this fit properly I would really enjoy it. Didn't notice much of a difference in tone.

Awesome aftermarket nut!
It's a great nut, better than most that I've used. I had to file some of it which is normal when installing a new one one most, if not all, guitars. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting a better nut or sustain, tone.. I give it 🤘🤘!!!!

A well needed improvement for my Oscar Schmidt OE20G
Honestly, there's really not much to say about it. The original stock nut that was on my Oscar Schmidt OE20G was actually not bad. However, when I had replaced the default D'Addario strings they put on it for my own preference of thicker strings (hybrid slinkies), It began to suffer some intonation and binding problems on some of the strings. I could have just widened the grooves, but wanted to try something different. To remedy this, I had purchased this nut because of the good reviews over it. I also preferred it's more rounded and shallow string grooves over the deep and very enclosed grooves of the original nut. Not only did this fix the binding and intonation issues, it really brought out a much fuller and pleasing tone from my guitar. It was really easy to install using sandpaper to file it down to proper size (sanded the bottom and a bit of the side) and fixed it with VERY little glue).
