Good value!
Works well and setup was easy. I like the app for network controls and access. Wifi 7 is amazing!

Excellent router!
Amazing! I replaced a 9 year old Nighthawk with this new one today and the difference in speed is crazy. Using the app to connect it was simple. Didn't have to change passwords or anything. Very easy for a non - IT guy

Very fast and easy to set up
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Based on specs and reviews.Ease of setup:The app is very easy to use and configure your router.Speed:This router is much faster than the "rental" router provided and supports up to 7G!Wireless connectivity:The wireless signal is max throughout our house (2,200 square feet, 2 stories plus basement).

Good 2.4/5Ghz performance for the price. Disappointing 6Ghz band.
Recently purchased and set up this router for my home, and here are some thoughts.First of all, on the specs themselves, I thought this was a steal at $188, compared to the RS300 at $280. I did a lot of research and these are practically identical routers, the only difference being the 2.4Ghz band does not support WiFi 7, so it's 500Mbps instead of 600Mbps, which seems completely trivial. Anything you need high speed for should be using the 5Ghz or 6Ghz band anyways.Setup: I did run into an issue when setting it up. After it asked me to name the network, it then needed a firmware update. The firmware update completed fine but the network name reverted back to the default name, even though in the Nighthawk app it still showed the new name I gave it. The only way to fix this was to turn off the smart connect feature that merges all the SSIDs into one, and once there were three different SSIDs, the names showed up correctly.Performance: So far the performance is good, but hasn't blown me away. The range for the 2.4/5Ghz bands is pretty much the same as the cheap TP-Link AX1800 that this replaced. The 6Ghz band range is terrible. There's no other way to put it. It pretty much only works in the same room. I was sort of expecting it to be worse based on what I've read online, but it's worse than I thought. Additionally, it's actually a littler slower than the 5Ghz band on the one device I have that currently can use the 6Ghz band, which is my new phone I just got that has Wifi6E. I tested both bands while standing right in front of it and the 5Ghz band outperformed the 6Ghz band by about 5-10%. I bought this for future proofing, so we'll see if Wifi7 devices will work better with it in the future. My desktop PC has a wireless AC card in it and was able to max out my internet's bandwidth at 800Mbps on the 5Ghz band no problem, so that was great (I upgraded my modem at the same time, which was previously bottlenecking me to 130Mbps no matter the device or band).Other: I have noticed at times that my phone will connect to the 2.4Ghz band instead of the 5Ghz band, so I made my phone forget the 2.4Ghz SSID to force it to always use the 5Ghz band. I suppose if the smart connect feature had worked, it would have fixed this (but I can't say since I never got to test it out). Conclusion: Definitely not perfect, but still good overall for the 2.4/5Ghz bands. For the price, I think it's a good deal and hopefully will work well with Wifi7 devices in the future.

Disappointed
Setting up this router was a frustrating experience. It took significantly longer to set up compared to my TP-Link, and I encountered several issues right out of the box. The router initially had trouble connecting to my mobile devices, and the required firmware update failed on the first attempt before finally completing on the second try. While this router does offer better coverage, its performance during speed tests was disappointing. Speeds were only acceptable when I was close to the router. As soon as I moved downstairs, the speed dropped by half. In contrast, my TP-Link is more affordable and delivers faster, more consistent speeds. That said, I really like the Netgear app—it’s intuitive, modern, and easy to use. Unfortunately, the overall performance doesn’t justify the cost, and I’ll be returning this product. Netgear really missed the mark here.

RS280S - Happy Surfer
Got the new router connected w/o issue. Very happy with its operation and its wired network options are good also, with LAN aggregation available on the 1 Gbps ports as well as the WAN aggregation using the 2.5Gbps LAN port #4.From what I could read, this model is almost identical to the RS300 at a 1/3 lower price. Also allows you to connect a USB HDD to the router & use it as a Network Storage device (although I have not checked this feature out yet). There is even a button to turn off all the lights except the power light so you don't have blinking going on all the time. All the antennas are internal so there aren't those sticking out everywhere & since it is more vertically oriented, the footprint is not so huge like my old router. Originally had it installed close to floor, but recently got a shelf put up to get it about 5' off the floor for better WiFi. It comes with a one year subscription to Netgear's protection software, protecting all connected devices. Granted, if you want to renew that next year, there is a cost. And with WiFi 7 pre-installed, looking forward to this one meeting my needs for quite a while. There was one issue I ran into, when updating the firmware, something went amiss & I needed to call tech support to inquire how best to proceed, a google search of the phone number on my cell phone lead me to what APPEARED to be Netgear but was instead a authorized reseller who wanted to charge me an astronomical price for support. I realized my error & hung up & searched for Netgear's actual # & got everything set up fine (at no additional charge). If you do need tech support, MAKE SURE you are connected to the actual manufacturer & not the one that appears to be them in a Google search.

Can't go wrong with this router
Easy setup. Works great. Not much faster then my old router on the internet but file transfers between network devices are really good. Highly recommended!
