Small boom box has big sound!
I have a large 7000 sq. ft. farm shop and like to listen to AM talk radio while I'm working. I decided to try this little boom box radio to see if it would be loud enough to hear clearly while I'm working. I have to say so far it has passed with flying colors. When the radio is in one location I can hear it very distinctly from anywhere in that large shop if no machinery is running. When loud machinery is operating I wear hearing protection. When that happens, as long as I keep the radio fairly close by and set it at full volume, I can hear it just fine even using hearing protection. I just plug it into whatever wall outlet is handiest, but it will also operate on batteries. The small size allows me to easily move it. I haven't had it too long, but it's been operating about 12 hours per day with no problems. I guess the real test will be if it can hold up long term with that much use. I have not employed any of the other features the boom box has so don't have any idea how well they would work. The shop building is all metal and I was very impressed to find there was only the very slightest interference (Static) when the building is completely closed up, and the radio is absolutely crystal clear when the big 30 foot wide metal overhead doors are open. I'm really enjoying this small boom box radio.

Works well for my needs
I bought this mainly for cassettes. I have alot I recorded and purchased in the 70's and 80's and it works great for that. I did play a CD and it sounds good. Alot better then the boom box it replaces. I may get a dedicated mp3 player to attach to this as I'm thinking this will go great with my bluetti power station when I'm out in the shed. More features then I expected so may as well use them.

Decent product but can be hard to tune to proper frequency
The radio (which is why I purchased this) sounds okay. It isn’t great & doesn’t have much bass to the blend. I use it to listen to a radio talk show. One thing I read in the reviews before I bought it was how sensitive the tuning dial is to the touch. It can be difficult to stop on the correct station. It will even change slightly by itself when I turn on the radio. I have used the Bluetooth feature with my iPad. Also be prepared for a brief delay when you turn on the unit. That was also noted in previous reviews I read. Overall it does what I bought it to do.

Just what she needed and wanted...
My mother loves it, she can play her CDs and Tapes now. Plus is has a remote so she doesn't have to get up to turn it on. The size is perfect and compact. Found it in her favorite color, blue.

Money well spent!
I have had a chance to use the product now and love it! Would highly recommend. Very reasonably price sounds great, is easy to use, and is small enough to fit into any decor and surroundings.

One glaring defect ruins the unit for me
I purchased this nice looking little unit as a portable alternative to the larger units I own. It is good to carry this around the house or outdoors and have music at my fingertips wherever I go. However this unit could have been a lot better for the reasons described below. The defect which I found totally unacceptable was the .CD player skipping unpredictably during any given track, usually at the very end or very beginning of a track thereby cutting off the music at those points. I wish to say that all CDs I have played on this unit are clean and undamaged - most of them brand new. Also, the track number one is listening to does not appear - only the timing of said track. This makes it very hard to keep track of (no pun intended) of what I am listening to. Since I have a sizable CD collection these defects were the biggest disappointment with this product. There are however other issues which, had they been thought out and integrated would have made this product a much better value. These may bother some more than others but here goes:1) There is not as much bass in this unit so calling it a boombox is a bit of a stretch. There is no equalizer so no way to adjust the bass and/or treble. There is a button on the remote to modify the sound a bit but just a bit - classical, jazz, rock. pop and flat that does little to change the sound quality of what you are listening to at the moment. To be fair, the sound quality will depend to a large degree on the source of what you are listening to (quality of recording, engineering etc.) but don't expect to blow the roof off. That said the quality and volume level are more than adequate for a system of this size and cost.2) The cassette function cannot be operated from the remote. You must use the buttons on the top of the player. Sound quality is good but the cassette mechanism is not auto-reverse. You must switch to the other side manually. May or may not be an issue as not everyone listens to or has this medium anymore but I put this out there as I and I am sure many others still have cassettes from the good old days.3) Radio stations cannot be changed via the remote. You must manually use the dial on the right side of the player to do so and press another button on the front of the unit to switch from AM to FM and vice versa. The volume can be controlled by the remote but as far as the radio is concerned that's it. That said the reception is excellent on both bands where I live - I can even listen to FM without the antenna raised. I also wish to comment on reviews that criticize the telescopic antenna feature. The reception with a telescopic antenna is infinitely better IMHO than the now ubiquitous wire antennas that can snap off and break at any time and you have to move around whenever reception is fuzzy.4) The Bluetooth connected quickly with no problem and sounds great. I just wish that the track numbers (or songs as Amazon calls this) appear instead of just the timings just like the CD player.I have not used the USB function so I cannot comment on this.In conclusion, this is a product which could have been a winner due to its sound quality for the price and its general ease of use. If it were not for the skipping CD player I could even live with the above four issues though integrating them would have made the operation of the unit that much easier. But the skipping kills the unit for me and I will be returning it for a refund. The search continues.
