This isn't a true fan oven!
I recently purchased this oven to replace the same model that had just worn out over many years use. I thought I'd stick with the same model as I'd been really happy with it. Hotpoint have made changes to the fan oven though which make it unusable.On first use the fan cut out as soon as the oven got to temperature and the food didn't cook through properly. The fan kicks back in again if the temperature drops but then stops again. We consulted the manual and compared with the old manual. No changes. We phoned AO who agreed this was a fault and a hotpoint engineer visited us 2 weeks later. He also agreed this was a fault and phoned through to organise a replacement as it was only 3 weeks old. Head office advised this isn't a fault though and is actually a new design feature. We are now stuck with a fan oven that works like no other fan and doesn't cook properly. Despite this new feature of a partial fan oven they haven't updated the manuals or their advertising. We are unable to get a full refund as despite its inability to cook properly, hotpoint say it's not faulty.
