what direction does it rotate, and witch way is that?

It rotates clockwise and counterclockwise depending on whether your engaging the pump or disengaging it.

If the the bottom of the shipping box is saturated in oil, is this an indication the pump may be damaged/leaky? Pump is even tripple bagged w/i box.

Since this pump rotates cw, would i need a motor that turns ccw (when facing motor shafts-side) - so opposite rotation of the pump?

This item is for a downshaft motor they are set up to run the direction of any motor that has downshaft
