So much more pleasant to use than a mouse !
I’ve used this for several months, recording into Studio One. Just love the big soft record button. Also being able to turn Solo on/off without having to reach for the mouse. Also taking it into the vocal booth so I can drive the DAW from inside.Found I have press two buttons at startup every time to select Studio One protocol, but that’s not too much hassle.Guess it is quite expensive, but for me it’s definitely been worth it.

Great desk for the money
This really is give value for money, it’s very easy to install (just download the PreSonus App, run it flash the firmware and boom it’s ready) and it works with most DAWs it does come with a cut down PreSunus Studio One. I just followed the basic instructions and it was set for Pro Tools, it took minutes from start to finish. If like me & plenty of others after hours of online research looking for help, & you use a Mac do not install the “Free Plugin Alliance” plugins because it’s almost impossible to get rid of them & at the start up of the DAW software (I use Pro Tools) it wants you to either buy other plugins (about 120) or active them! It does it every time! The Lexicon reverb is great, so that’s a nice add on & works a treat. If you are after a very good 16 track mixer, Go for it!

Great.
This is my second purchase of the item, as I wanted to try and daisy chain two together. Good item and works perfectly in Studio One. Would recommend it to anyone who's starting out and just needs a faderport to get them going.

Look no further
After trying several different DAW and MIDI controllers, I decided to go for the Faderport 8 as an upgrade. The device works like charm on any DAW's I've tried, including Logic Pro X and Ableton Live, but it works best with Studio One (no surprise there being a PreSonus device).I was especially impressed with the "MIDI Mode", which allows you to alternate between DAW Controller to MIDI Controller by pressing a couple buttons. On MIDI mode, all buttons work as MIDI CCs as well as the faders, which are mapped to some of the most used CC messages (CC1, CC11, CC7...). Having proper 100mm faders allow for great precision when adding expression to virtual instruments. Mind you, the faders are not motorised on this mode, but that is the case with most (if not all) MIDI faders on the market.Pros:- Great Functionality- Works with most DAWs- MIDI Controller mode- Responsive motorised 100mm faders- Works like a dream in Studio One- Nice look and feelCons:- Can take up some space- Fairly expensive- Display is not great (too bright, even at the dimmest setting)- Non customisable CCs on MIDI mode (can't be mapped to CC messages for your need)- Jog wheel does not double as scrub wheel

Useful hardware addition to control DAW
Solidly built buttons work very well and light up when pressed and selected. Single motorised slider is excellent in use for volume or automation. Reasonably priced though not cheap. I found it works well straight out of the box with Presonus Studio One but you can adapt it to work with Ableton Live to an extent. I tend to use it alongside my trackball so it is useful but not essential.

Workflow, workflow, workflow!!!
Not one to write reviews, but this product is a game changer for me.The improved workflow is immense. I used to know my key commands inside out but with updates they switch keys around and it threw me off. Now, I hardly touch mouse + keys. Which brings me back to the days of using a desk and tape. I'm back in control of the song .Well spaced out transport section makes it easy to navigate song and tracks within it, a plethora of my commonly used key commands in logic and other daws. The fader is nice when tracking and setting quick levels after takes , for automation, and I guess for mixing.Overall I'd recommend it, build is good, looks and feels like quality and improves workflow!

Plug and play perfection.
Note: This review is for the newer 2018 version of Faderport One. This is the perfect companion for Presonus Studio One. It works perfectly as intended. I haven't tried it with any other DAW (I understand there maybe some issues). But if you use Studio One, Faderport One is a natural extension and integrates seamlessly. My only caveat, it doesn't seem to like USB 3.0 ports, so plug it in to a USB 2.0 port either directly or through a high quality powered USB hub. (Frankly, none of the hardware in my studio works well with USB 3.0, so over the years I've come to accept this as the norm). Best studio purchase I've made in a long time.

If you use Studio One, it’s brilliant to use.
Very simple to operate and it’s integrated use with Studio One make it very convenient to use. The controls are laid out to be easy to make quick track changes and the fader movement is really clever! Well worth the money. For those that want an even simpler setup, Presonus also have faderport with an audio interface. The only downside is that you have to plug it in, as it doesn’t run just on usb power. If it did,it would be the ultimate portable studio option.
